Help For Heroes tickets & travel

Tickets for tonight's Help For Heroes charity game are on sale now, priced just £10 adults and £5 children.

Telephone 0844 249 1871, use the online ticketing service or visit the Madejski Stadium Ticket Office in person. Tickets will be on sale right up until kick off.

Paul Gascoigne, Toto Schillachi, Les Ferdinand, Lothar Matthaus, Kerry Dixon, Joe Calzaghe and Danny Dyer are among a whole host of names who will turn out and give their time for the Help For Heroes charity, aiding our wounded servicemen and women.

Frank Lampard Sr will assist England boss Alan Curbishley on the sidelines, while Lawrie Sanchez is manager of the Rest Of The World and Ivar Ingimarsson his assistant.

Car parking is at a reduced rate of £5 per car. This will apply to the Madejski Car Parks and Worton Grange Car Park at Imperial Way. RFC Season Parking Permits are not valid for this match.

Supporter Buses are running from Reading Station before and after the match (£3.50 return adult, £2.00 return Child). Reading and Stagecoach Urban Services are not running for this match.

Madejski Stadium hosts a Help For Heroes charity game tonight, and the organisers have publicised the latest squad list for this exciting match, kick off 7:45pm.

Tickets for the game are priced just £10 adults and £5 children, and they are available now from the Madejski Stadium ticket office, either in person or by telephoning 0844 249 1871, or in the official online ticketing service.

Madejski Stadium played host to a very successful Heroes Cup charity game this Thursday evening as stars of sport, stage and screen gave their time to support Help For Heroes, the Football League's official charity of 2009/10.

An enjoyable evening was had by all, and supporters got to see the likes of Paul Gascoigne, Lothar Matthaus and the absolutely outstanding Tugay grace the hallowed Berkshire turf in aid of very worthy cause.

The Rest Of The World, managed by Lawrie Sanchez and Ivar Ingimarsson, dominated from start to finish and their midfield of Tugay, Matthaus, Gus Poyet, Stefan Schwarz and Steffen Freund were simply too good on the night.

Joe Calzaghe fired a shot across England's bows early on, and it was a sign of things to come as Matthaus smacked home on 17 minutes from Iain Dowie's cross. Dowie had robbed Des Walker in the box - but legendary English defender Walker was somewhat unlucky as Dowie playfully had at least half of his shirt in his hand!

The lively Dowie made it 2-0 soon after, linking up nicely with the silky smooth Poyet, who added a sumptuous third on 29 to make it three goals in 12 minutes.

It was game over as a contest at that point, but nobody was too concerned as Tugay continued to run the show and Gazza was up to his old playful antics in midfield!

Guy Whittingham, a former Army man himself, then gave England what proved to be a consolation with a deflected effort just before half time. Ex-Reading man Michael Gilkes hit the post on the hour mark, and Iwan Thomas rounded off the scoring from close range with 13 minutes to go.

A number of Armed Forces personnel got time on the field in the final stages, and in fairness their fitness levels rather surpassed some of the better-known faces on the pitch!

It was a top class evening, and credit should go to everyone who gave their time to participate or attend.

Watched that last night, about 8k at the game, sha me about the weather as I think there might have been a good few more. Plenty of forces players on display for both sides. The England right back was excellent and incredibly fit!

All in all, a good night and a great cause.
