Marc Bircham keeps us up-to-date with his trip to the Middle East as a guest of Gulf Air...
"We're now out here in Bahrain in very humid conditions after a great flight, and we're all really looking forward to Thursday's golf tournament.
"We are taking part in the Royal Golf Club Pro-Am tournament as guests of Gulf Air.
"It's a fantastic opportunity for myself, the First Team Coach Keith Ryan and former QPR defender Steve Wicks to get out here and spread the name of QPR.
"I have been told that our relationship with Gulf Air as our Official Shirt Sponsors has helped to increase the Club's fan-base here, and that's just brilliant.
"As a lifelong QPR fan, it is just incredible to be out here and see youngsters wearing the Blue and White Hoops. I hope that by the time our visit comes to an end, there will be even more kids here who will be looking out for the R's on a matchday.
"I'm not just saying this because I feel I should - but a big thumbs up to Gulf Air for the way they looked after us on our way out here.
"They got me out of a bit of a predicament!
"I arrived at Heathrow Airport this morning (Tuesday) along with Rhino and Wicksy in plenty of time. We handed our passports over at the desk - and I ended up getting a very confused look from the Gulf Air lady.
"It turns out I picked up my wife's passport when I left the house at 6am this morning. I couldn't believe it!
"I ended up calling my mate and he whizzed over to my house and got over to Heathrow as quick as he could with my passport.
"There were a few anxious looks at the watch when he still hadn't turned up at 8.30am - we were due to take off at 9.30am!
"Michelle and her colleagues at Gulf Air were first-class, though. As soon as the passport arrived, they whisked us through and we managed to make the flight with plenty of time to spare.
"We're staying at L'Hotel, which is only a short drive from the Royal Golf Club, and the rooms are amazing. I have to say, we've been made to feel incredibly welcome.
"I just hope they don't put us on the first flight back when they see the state of my golf game!
"We're going for a practice round tomorrow, so hopefully that will go well and give us a bit of confidence. I'll let you know how we do!"

Marc Bircham, Keith Ryan and former R Steve Wicks are travelling to Bahrain today (Tuesday) to compete in the Royal Golf Club Pro Am
Bircham, who is now QPR's Youth Team Coach, will join First Team Coach Ryan and Wicks for the trip, which is being hosted by Gulf Air, the Club's Official Shirt Sponsors.
The three keen amateur golfers will attend a special auction night being held at the Club on Wednesday evening where they will have the opportunity to bid for their favourite pro to lead their team the following day.
Part of the money raised at the auction will be used to help promote the sport amongst Bahraini youngsters.
QPR First Team Manager Jim Magilton said: "The support of Gulf Air has been so important to the Club and I'm delighted that we have been given the opportunity to send out some QPR representatives for this week's competition at the Royal Golf Club.
"I have played a few rounds with Keith over the past couple of months, and I just hope he does us proud out there and doesn't crack under the pressure!
"One of Marc's great strengths as a player was to get under the skin of his opponents, but I've had a word with him to make sure he concentrates on his own game on the golf course!
"On a serious note, this is a great opportunity for us to grow our relationship with not only Gulf Air but also the football fans in Bahrain, and I wish the competition every success."
The Royal Golf Club Pro Am tournament marks the climax of the Gulf Air PGA Pro Captain Challenge, a 36-hole tournament featuring PGA Professionals from the UK and Ireland, which will be held at the Club today and tomorrow.
The seven British PGA Professionals visiting Bahrain to play in the Gulf Air event as well as the Captain of the PGA, Jim Farmer, will lead a team each in the Pro Am's team alliance competition.
Also competing will be several Professionals from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia as well as the six PGA Professionals employed at the Royal Golf Club.
The competition is expected to be fierce with some fantastic prizes up for grabs as well as a generous prize pool.
We wish the QPR trio luck - and we think they might need it!
