I still think back to that game today, I was 10 years old and it's my first real memory of a game until 1981. I seem to have conveniently forgotten all the lower scoring games I went to!

Great memories... Followed a couple of days later by Bloody Wolves in t'cup. Winning 1 - 0 excellent Allen free kick, and they bloody equalised in the 94th minute.... Nothing bloody changes.....

Never forgiven Docherty for selling Goddard and Allen.
There's better coming through the reserves.
What happened to them then eh?

Many thanks OP for this about the Burnley game. I recall being at the match and if my memory serves me correct the opposition weeping goal keeper had to be consoled off the field at the end..... In fact I have just done some research and came across this report: "Despite the scoreline young Billy O`Rourke drew the plaudits for a solid performance, which could have been far worse but for some heroics between the sticks. The stopper who passed away in 2002 aged 41, left the field in tears, but was nevertheless voted as man of the match by the Burnley Express. Rangers players stayed on to show their adulation for the young keeper" Read more: www.qpr.vitalfootball.co.uk/sitepage.asp?a=131739#ixzz1c4hBLq39-Passed away so young, so lets all make the most of the time we have!

Burnley offered nothing in defence and we played well. O'Rourke did actually have a decent game. It was 1 against 11 that day.

I remember watching highlights of this game but did not go. I am sure Burnley's young goalkeeper was in tears at the end of the game.
