Scott on WATRB has downloaded/put onto youtube extensive excerpts of the 1968/69 Premiership opener of QPR vs Leicester (it had already been available on WATRB a few months ago). And it comes with an Intro "We Are The Rangers Boy" blurb on the video. Like probably a number of others, I was at that game (It came before 1969, so I was still "eligible" Now if I post the link, I'll get the usual snide comments from certain people. If I don't post it, you'll get the "You're ignoring us..." So three options: 1) Say (metaphorically) "Eat S*** and Die" and go ahead and post a link 2) Say (metaphorically): "Eat S*** and Die" and don't post a link 3) Wait for someone else to post a link - Godfather, Pete, one of the ones here who post on both. I'll have to think about this one!

Don't know where the video originally came from - It's a Match of the Day or Big Match. (I think I will probably just stick to primary principles, pragmatically post; (and let any) pathetically pernicious petty people pick (a)part

It was one of the greatest days in QPR History: Just the total unreality of "Little Third Division QPR" being in the (then-called) First Division along with Manchester United and Manchester City and Arsenal and Spurs (and Chelsea and West Ham) and Liverpool. Just amazing. (Of course it was that kind of mentality that helped send us down!) I decided I'll go with "Eat S*** and Die" (metaphorically) and not worry about possible pathetic posts by pernicious petty people! This is the WATRB copy (with WATRB logo) of the BBC Video www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWf2YBBw2qM&feature=player_embedded

Gav, Are WATRB taking your videos, slapping on their logo and passing them off as there own on youtube/WATRB with no credit/mention of WWW.QPR-DVD-COPY-SHOP.CO.UK ?

Dreadful, sticking a logo on a MOTD video is bad enough!

Pretty low even by their standards. Gav has spent a lot of time and money hunting down all those clips. It's not on to do that to a fellow Rangers fan.

If Gav was the source: One possible compromise would be/would have been to have on the video, thanking Gav for the video/giving his contact info.

Exactly Mike, common courtesy to a fellow R. To not do so says a lot about them.

It's called recognition where it is due. Gavin, you deserve yours MOTD deserve theirs. Surely adding their own on the front breaches copyright?

The Sixties games on you tube were not bought from DVD shop.
Even the QPR V Chelsea games were not either.
The eighties games were given to me by a fan, who didn't wanting paying for them.
its true, MOTD, Times of our Lives some of the later ones were. They as far as i know are not on You Tube.
The latest batch sold were encrypted so cannot be used anyway and cannot be downloaded or even played on the DVD player and cost £21. The previous batch cost £55. (by memory)
I have every video that are mine from 1988 onwards anyway and these will be converted to DVD. Its just it will take a little longer.

Hopefully, when at work later i can dig out the email sent to the DVD shop, explaining what I would do with the DVD's once I bought them, at the time it seemed no problem. As I will again re-iterate the old classics and the Chelsea games were bought from somewhere else www.classicfootballdvds.com/footballleagueold.htmA guy who did not make a big issue about it and sold them at a reasonable price too.

Uncovered eh? Well Gav, obviously your work has a real niche market and some are using your efforts. As for recognising the original source of any clips such as MOTD, I think it would be proper to acknowledge the originator either at the start or the finish to address any copyright issues.

PS LWT must have zillions of QPR games from the 60's, 70's and early 80's stored somehwere just begging to be put on DVD.

I was going to post the email up, but this thread was going down, so didn't bother.
I said
"I would like to put them on wearetherangerboys.com website", could I pay by credit card. You advised it was Paypal and I paid £55.
I think from the videos you sent me, most had no commentary and the latest ones cannot even be watched on a DVD player and I'm not making an issue of the £21. All in all, I paid £76 and its fair to say 4-5 maximum were useful.
I can only re-iterate the old video clips and other vids on You Tube are from another company and a personal friend and not from QPR DVD shop
Its a shame it has gone this way, but all in all a comments were made about them going on you-tube, with our logo. I have paid money for them after all and never complained and I think instead of causing an argument, you would have done better advertising them on wearetherangersboys.com plus other QPR sites and not just on this board, as you would have got alot of interest and I am sure buyers, irrevelant from the fact 5 appeared on the web-site, as I believe your archive is extensive. #

Don't play on a dvd player? Never ever have i had that rubbish said about the discs, IF that was the case then i would have replaced them straight away!! Even now after being mugged off i would replace them because unlike some i have some integrity to uphold!!
