FOOTBALL AID IS BACK!
Posted on: Mon 28 Sep 2009
Football Aid is back and this year will see us celebrating our milestone tenth anniversary! And to help us celebrate our 'Decade of Dreams,' Queens Park Rangers have once again joined forces with us to allow fans of the R's with the opportunity to play on the hallowed turf of Loftus Road - and in turn raise funds for charity.
With a whole host of Clubs signing up to support Football Aid for our 'Decade of Dreams,' we will be offering fans the chance of a lifetime to gain exclusive access to the pitch and tunnel areas belonging to their favourite team, the thrill of a complete matchday experience, including pulling on a personalised shirt in the official match day dressing rooms, walking down the tunnel to the sound of a cheering crowd and ultimately stepping out onto their Field of Dreams.
Over the past ten years, more than 42,000 people have registered on the easy to use Football Aid website allowing them to receive further information on how they, like so many others can live their dream. As a result, this has allowed over 10,000 players to run out of the tunnel and step onto the hallowed turf of the team they support, in the knowledge that they have helped to raise significant funds for a variety of charitable and community projects.
Funds raised from the events will be distributed by QPR towards their chosen charitable and community projects, along with a charitable project nominated by Football Aid's parent charity Field of Dreams. We are also supported by a host of former club legends, including Stan Bowles, Clive Wilson and Danny Maddix, who have either managed or played alongside football fans living out their dream.
Football Aid was founded in 2000 and is a groundbreaking organisation which generates funds on an annual basis by hosting our very own charity football games at iconic stadiums around the UK. The unique concept is the brainchild of businessman and Football Aid Chairman Craig Paterson, whose son was diagnosed with Juvenile (type 1) diabetes at the age of 10.
With the support of the main Industry Partners, Sponsors and Clubs, Football Aid and its parent charity Field of Dreams has gone from strength to strength, delivering significant funds to a host of charities, given thousands of fans the thrill of a lifetime, and helped to promote the tremendous positive contribution that our clubs and leagues make to society.
So, are you great in goals? Or maybe a dynamic defender? Perhaps you're magic in midfield, or even a super striker? Whatever your position, if you have spent your life dreaming of that dazzling debut for The R's, now is YOUR chance to take those dreams to the next level! Although the season has already kicked off, there are still positions available to give YOU the opportunity to truly 'Live The Dream.' Call 0131 220 5999 or visit www.footballaid.com for further information.
Make sure that you're ahead of the gameā¦
