An old argument: Never speaking for others, but I don't hate him. Never met him. Sure he's a very nice man. (Criticisms, even if you think they're unfair, don't equate with hatred) But don't think too highly of the job he did as Chairman. And far from convinced he's the best we could do as Sporting Director. ANd it's fact that many things that have been said, were just not so.
But it's a fact that if you go to any of the boards, there are very, very, very few posters who think much of the job Paladini has done. And the effort is made by some to make it as appear as if it's just "Indys" and now people here, who have this view.
Since you raised the subject, I'd say the opposite question is a lot more appropriate: Why do some people go so far out to defend/exonerate Paladini?

No Report dont change the topic, the original thread was regarding the critique of Paladini.
I find your post quite absurd to be frank given the fact that Gianni bought in investment that every CCC would be the envy of.
If thats not doing a good job then I guess your opinion of him will never change.
Sporting Director was a change of title by the way if you look at Companies House he is still listed as CHAIRMAN OF QUEENS PARK RANGERS

First: As I understand it, there were others also involved in bringing in Briatore et al. (And Paladini, unlike Caliendo doesn't seem have to suffered from the deal)
And second of all, that's past. We all said (including me) Congratulations on accomplishing that,
Now he's being judged on how he performs as Sporting Director: The players he bought in; the contracts and wages given.

qprreport prides himself on being "impartial"
If someone is impartial, they would give the positives and the negatives points in equal measure. He falls a long way short, commenting on the positive aspects.
A win makes it very difficult for him. Such a shame.

I've never said I don't a view. But I attempt to hid/not post anything positive that he's done. My views are my views. I neither gain nor lose from the views I hold.
On any scale of partiality, my "opposition" to Paladini is far, far, far, FAR outweighed by your "support" for Paladini (which many feel has been well reciprocated). Offhand, I can't think of a single occasion in which you found anything to criticize him for.

I hardly post threads GP, in fact you would be hard pressed to find any on here, from before yesterday. Its a perception you try and convey to other fans, when in reality I just want the club to do well.

As I say: You've often/frequently/consistently defended Paladini and his every action. And attacked those who've criticized him. Have you ever criticized him on the boards. ANd over what.
Fans understand WHY you wouldn't want to criticize him. ( Golden Goose!) But maybe there have been times.
You've shown no reluctance to criticize the manager. Or Players. Or certain club actions (occasionally and briefly). But Paladini?

I think your find, I want another striker and have said so.
You have to be balance.
If you are going to criticise when things are not going well, fair enough.
But, what do you exactly do when things are going well?

I think I manage ok And when push comes to shove, I am of course, 100% independent of the people running the club.

Dont like him & make no apologies for that whatsoever. I feel, I know that our club is so much better than having an odious "character" like that representing us. Its a disgusting state of affairs in all honesty, I'm not doubting that he has made a lot of money out of QPR for himself & his "associates" The mismanagement we are talking about here is just on a ridiculous level. I support Queens Park Rangers Football Club, some of you Gianni Paladini supporters, I dont even regard as fellow fans, you have been bought, you are P*******s, nothing more, nothing less. So please, do us all a favour, & stop trying to give it the large to real Queens Park Rangers fans, its an embarrassment. When the Italians leave, you lot will be out of a job as well, so close the door on your way out, you wont be missed.

I'll give Credit to the manager & the players like it should be.
You on the otherhand....??!
To be honest, its just sad, if you are getting paid for this "service" then fair enough, it would all make sense, but if not, then you have got some serious issues dude.

The emergence, yet again of the defenders of the indefensible means that there is pressure in the inner circles that frequent Paladini's satellite visits to local pubs.
Other factors of debate - Former Free help Attorney - Nico makes a sudden appearance & tells us all that il Duca is on his way out, rumour of a buyout & express's love for the best chairman in QPR history.
But we all know that rumour has it that, Briatores going to around a little more, some changes, a possible boardroom battle ?

KLR I was looking for a series debate instead you appear to post things like fans have been bought.
I find that a little dissapointing.
I'm more than happy to talk about the GP reign with a balanced view.
For one I dont agree with some of his decisions, I think he has had possibly to much say in transfers and the way in which we handled the Olly situation for me was very upsetting.
But I'm pleased he has bought in the investment and as a Sporting Director/Chairman I think he is not doing to bad.
I'm sure if he was the odious clueless character that he has been painted with then Briatore might well have sacked him by now.
I just wondered what the massive under current of negativity was towards the guy.
Oh and for the record never had one freebie out of the club, Gianni or any of the previous chairman.

Funky, you and I agree on the Holloway episode. Great passionate manager for the club, though right at the end, he was desperate. Some of the former signings were abysmal (we had no money at the time), Czerkas, Tckamonte, Oliseh and Sturridge dreadful, but we stayed up and that was the main thing.
These guys don't even give credit to GP that when he signed Flavio into the club, that this club will never be short of money again for a very very long time and we have a stable future. That, I find disgraceful.
Think you will find the above a balanced description, shame some others cannot give that too

Yep agreed Pete the Waddock era was a complete co** up and I think some of the length of contracts given to some of our current playing squad is plain stupid.
Having said that trying to have a debate on the issues appears to be a waste of time, which is a shame.

Just confirming: You make it sound like Holloway signed those aformentioned players. But you are giving "Credit" to Paladini, correct.
As for Paladini bringing in Briatore, I think if you look back (and are probably well aware) I have repeatedly praised Paladini for that.
I have also said - that we have wasted an awful lot of money in the past couple of years. ANd that the same amount of money spent by someone better equipped to be Sporting DIrector would have done a lot better for the club. That's obviously an opinion. But so be it

The deal was 100% put together by Gianni Paladini and i have had that confirmed by 3 people very close to the club I shall not name names.
Antonio Caliendo deserves massive praise for his investment in the club and I really do hope that the issues surrounding him still being owed money are resolved quickly.

I have lots of respect for Paladini getting Briatore and Ecclestone to the club. And I also think it is as Briatore says, we would have been where Luton is now if it was not for this takeover! However that has nothing to do with how Paladini is functioning as a Director of Football!
Also, I don't doubt that Paladini wants the best for this club, I really do think he wants the best for this club. To me, he could be good to still have on the board, but maybe not as a director of football...

BP (My "Secret Contact") has himself suggested that I'd get on well with Paladini - GIANNNI -
That may well be true. But doesn't make him a great (or even good) SPorting DIrector. Doesn't mean he doesn't want to be a good Sporting Director. Any more than a manager or player don't want to be great...
As for what exactly happened to bring about the Briatore and Ecclestone buy in. Well we certainly know that Ecclestone and Briatore have said different things.

Yes it was a great thing that wealthy owners were brought into the club and potentially great things could await the club because of that and if Gianni was truly solely responsible for this then he deserves praise for that but (you knew it was coming) this is nothing more than enlightened self-interest. We are told that GP invested some £600K into the club when he bought in and clearly this was on the line if the club folded. The assets of the club were effectively owned by ABC and therefore his only option was to find alternative investment including at one point going back to Bill Power (a man he ousted as chairman) to put a consortia together. I believe he has always taken a salary from QPR and I suspect has done financially very well out of the QPR takeover (unlike Caliendo). All this would be by the by if his substantial input into the team was positive or at least neutral but the sense is that the man has interfered and undermined the football team's managers and made poor choice with his budgets large or small.

I would agree with that, I have no reason to hate him whatsoever. In fact, in that rogueish (sp) sort of way I rather like hime.
I do feel some of the contracts he's handed out are bizarre to say the least and you could go on forever discussing all the signings. As sporting director I imagine that is his area of responsibility so there must be culpability also.
As for hate, I don't think many do but then I can only speak for myself. Certainly am not vain enough to believe I represent a number of fans!

The idiosyncracies of the owner determine what Paladini can do and cannot do. There seems to be a mission of keeping everything under control, brooking no dissent, Paladini has that control except when Flav tells him to sign this Argentinian (see how we won without him yesterday) and that Italian.
He has signed some good people and bad, the slew of midfielders last season was bizarre, the need to make monies on each move is evident. These short loans are good. You see he seems to be doing it with his own support group and agents.
There is no interest and no support for an extensive scouting system, a youth development program, a sense that a manager can ever feel he is in control and in control of his destiny.
Nobody hates Paladini. He sounds like he he has a goodside and a real hot tempered negative one. Its silly to get too unwound over him because hes going nowhere and we are supposed to be going somewhere. Briatore admitted he knew nothing about football, Paladini obviously does and to keep using him as cudgel for beating boards heads about is truly silly.

One thing I would love to say is dont try and take the p!ss out of a QPR fan just because they live in the States, of course people live 3000 miles away, you think they dont love the club as much as me & you ??! My dad lives in North Kensington, less than a mile away from Loftus Road, my Dad saw every match that Rodney Marsh ever played for the club, my Dad hasnt been down to Rangers in 4 years, my Dad doesnt love Rangers right ?? Dont make me laugh, these are real QPR people you are talking about, my Dad knows more about QPR than some of you mugs will ever know, dont ever try and take the p! ss out of Rangers like this, you have not got a clue. I'm drunk, I'm going to bed....dont ever think that you love this club than the man down the road or the man that lives in the states.

Agree.
All supporters are equal, but if you are going to forthright with opinions off the pitch, then you should be able to back them up with what happens on the pitch. The world of media is very good now, you can catch highlights practically anywhere or listen to the game.
Even a "he took that goal well" would be a good comment
