Sounds ideal for QPR, in more than one way (and I saw some messageboard posts I t hink re him) Sheffield Telegraph "...Not that there is any ready solution to offloading Francis Jeffers after his transfer-listing last week. ....Both the clubs who registered early interest - one at home and the other in Spain - have dropped out, leaving no takers at present. It remains to be seen whether QPR boss Jim Magilton - who got Jeffers in scoring form during a loan spell at Ipswich before the player moved to Hillsborough - will rekindle an interest. www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk/sport/Laws-rejects-Keanes-swap-deal.5612385.jpHis Stats en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Jeffers

And just to note the article was also about a Jon Stead move to Sheff Wed
Sheffield Telegraph/Alan BiggsLaws rejects Keane's swap deal for Woods
Sheffield Wednesday rejected an approach from Ipswich for Richard Wood ahead of the midweek deadline.
Roy Keane proposed a player-swap believed to have involved Ipswich striker Jon Stead, the Telegraph can further reveal.
But Owls boss Brian Laws is committed to keeping Wood, saying: "I'm hoping we can conclude a new contract with him shortly."
Stead will have been a logical source of interest for Laws as he continues his sweep for forwards. But the former Sheffield United striker is likely to be on around £10,000, putting him beyond Wednesday's current budget at a time when Laws may have to make room for a signing.
Wood is probably on less than half that figure, making a straight swap - were it proposed - impossible to equate. For any such deal to go ahead Wednesday would have needed a substantial cash balance.
But Laws is concentrating purely on tieing up protracted talks to secure the 24 year old defender, who is established at the heart of the Owls' back four alongside Darren Purse, his replacement as skipper.
Laws told the Telegraph: "I'm not going to deny Ipswich made contact. But we were not interested in the deal they were possibly talking about.
"I spoke to Roy Keane and it was more to do with players swapping. What we would be looking for is cash but we don't have to sell."
Laws is being pragmatic here in that every player has his price. But he added: "Although we know there is interest out there in Richard, we're happy with him and he's happy here. He's already indicated that he's enjoying his football and wants to get the contract sorted out as much as anyone else."
The loan window reopens in a week, leaving the whole situation fluid. Like Wood, Tommy Spurr, 22, is in his last season on contract. The difference is that Wednesday stand to be fully compensated should they lose Spurr next summer, as a player under 24, whereas Wood - 25 next July - could leave for nothing.
But Laws said: "There's no panic. I hope there's a conclusion with both of them and I feel there's an end to this."
Not that there is any ready solution to offloading Francis Jeffers after his transfer-listing last week.

DEFINITELY sounds an ideal QPR signing! When Saturday Comes/ROb Weston
Another new start for Francis Jeffers Friday 18 September ~ Six years ago Francis Jeffers scored on his one and only appearance for England, as a substitute in a 3-1 home defeat by Australia. This week it has been suggested that he may soon link up with the man who gave him that one cap, Sven-Goran Eriksson. Playing for Notts County can be a lucrative business these days – they are paying Sol Campbell £60,000 a week – but a move down to the fourth level would nonetheless mark a new low in one of the strangest careers in modern football. Jeffers cost Arsenal £8 million when joining from Everton in 2001. He was in the middle of a prolific run of scoring for the England Under-21s – he matched Alan Shearer in getting 13 goals in 16 games – and was widely tipped to become a regular in the national squad. Now 28, he has spent the last six years drifting around from club to club. If Jeffers is to be remembered, it will mainly be for Arsene Wenger's optimistic description of him as a "fox in the box". This has since been adapted in various uncomplimentary ways – "the fox on the bench" being the politest – by supporters of the various clubs at which he has underperformed. A striker of undoubted talent is a free agent once again because Sheffield Wednesday transfer listed him after he was sent off for headbutting a Port Vale player in a Carling Cup tie last month. Last season was the best yet for Jeffers in terms of League appearances, 31 in total, although he only scored three times. Prior to that he'd had a season each at Charlton and Blackburn plus loan periods at Rangers, Ipswich and Everton. He returned to Goodison Park in 2003 having played just 22 games in two years at Arsenal, scoring four times. In his second spell with his original club, he was mainly used as a late substitute and failed to score in 18 League games. Jeffers's stuttering career can partly be put down to injuries, specifically to a recurring ankle problem that blighted his time at Highbury. But his wanderings around the League have also been accompanied by comments about an uninterested attitude and occasional belligerence. "His conduct was totally unacceptable and something this club will not tolerate," said Wednesday manager Brian Laws after the Port Vale dismissal. As is the modern way, a career that has amounted to little more than a succession of disappointments has been expensively funded – each new move will have involved a signing on fee and a nice big contract. If he fetches up at Notts County some supporters will reflect that, this time, maybe, if he can stay injury-free... but it will be more in hope than expectation.
