BBC Imps target 'up-and-coming' boss Lincoln vice-chairman Bob Dorrian says the club is targeting an up-and-coming manager to replace Peter Jackson.
The Imps sacked Jackson on Wednesday after a disappointing start to their League Two campaign.
Dorrian told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We're looking for somebody who is young and up-and-coming with good coaching skills.
"It could be that the manager comes from non-league, but that doesn't mean we're looking only at non-league."
Dorrian said interviews would start next week.
Leading candidates include ex-Cambridge United manager Gary Brabin, Kettering boss Mark Cooper and former Lincoln winger Gareth Ainsworth, currently a coach at QPR.
Among the more experienced names being linked with the job are ex-Imps manager Steve Thompson, Ronnie Moore and Colin Calderwood.
