The Rules Rules All football games will be played on pitches 60 by 30 metres and surrounded by perimeter boards. Each match will be eight minutes each way. Each football team can use a squad of nine players for each game, with a maximum of six on the pitch at any one time. An unlimited number of substitutions can be made by each team at any time during the game. At least one footballer must be in the opposition's half at all times or a free-kick will be awarded to the opposition on the halfway line. This rule does not apply to a team which has had a player sent off. There is no offside. All free kicks must take place within five seconds or the decision is reversed. The opposition must be five metres away at free kicks. No minor injuries will be treated on the pitch. The clock will only be stopped for serious injury or time wasting. Sin bin will be used in an unofficial capacity for yellow card offences. The referee will suggest the player leaves the pitch for two minutes. Any player who receives a red card will be sent off immediately, cannot be replaced and will be banned for the next match. In the most extreme of cases, players will be banned from playing Masters football indefinately. Player eligibilityThe Masters Football season runs from April 1 – 31 March. It consists of the Masters Cup [June – Sept], the tour of Asia [Nov] and Home Nations or Dubai Cup [March]. Players must be 35 in the year of the tournament. Football League LEAGUE IN MASTERS ACTION Posted on: 04.09.2009 There is a huge Football League presence in this weekend's Grand Final of the Screwfix Masters, with five of the eight clubs involved playing in either the Coca-Cola Championship or League 1. Middlesbrough, Queens Park Rangers, Tranmere Rovers, Leicester City and Barnsley will all be in action at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Sunday, battling it out to take the 2009 title with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bolton Wanderers and Celtic . Tranmere Rovers are already the pride of Merseyside after beating Everton, Liverpool and Wigan Athletic in the Mersey Masters before completing the double over the blue half of Liverpool in the Final, winning 4-1 thanks to goals from Eddie Bishop (2), Kenny Irons and George Santos. Rovers only began playing Master's football last season, but have taken the competition by storm winning their region for two years in succession and goalkeeper John Achterberg, who is now a coach at Liverpool, is hoping to go one step better this year: "I think, last year, we could have done better, having lost to Man City in the semi-final. "Hopefully we can do better this time but it's difficult to say because it could all be over in one game if we lose the first match to Celtic." Boro are another side with high hopes after winning the Northern Masters for a second successive year and with the likes of Craig Hignett, Dean Windass and John Hendrie in the side there will certainly be goals. QPR needed a penalty shoot out, to earn their place in the Grand Final, beating West Ham in the final of the London Masters. Andy Sinton and Michael Meaker were the stars of their squad, scoring two apiece and both will be hoping to find their form again. David Oldfield will be one of the ones to watch for Leicester City after he scored five goals as the Foxes won the Central Masters, while team mate Lee Philpott was named as the Man of the Match. Barnsley also needed penalties to earn their place in Sunday's final as they drew 2-2 with Sheffield Wednesday in the Yorkshire Masters but they did look impressive in their group stages. Wayne Biggins picked up the Golden Boot with three goals while Dutchman Dean Gorre was named as the Man of the Match so the Tykes will need them in good form if they are to win the overall title. We won the London masters but are the only representative from the south.
