Thankfully the Allen family were good for us (except for Clive's hatrick for Spurs!)

30 Years Ago, QPR drew 1-1 at Chelsea, Tommy Langley scoring his first QPR Goal after his transfer...
And a few weeks later, Manager Tommy Docherty was gone...and Terry - G-D - Venables was in!

When he scored away to Wimbledon and then did the old cop the ears at us. Gobshite
The good thing now is he looks like an actor of Priscilla Queen of the Desert before being make up.
Wilkins again showed his feckwit ways in the transfer market.

Don't remind me.
Stuffed us. Believe it or not it was marginally better than the 2-0 up there a year or two before.
The pitch was covered in ice. Birmingham obvious had the right footwear, and we didn't. I've never seen such a one-sided game, and still suspect 2-0 is a typo and it was 12. Freezing. And my friend lost his shoe on the icy terrace steps coming out and had to travel to Cheltenham on one sock.
We wore the red we were wearing when we crushed them 4-1 the year before in the League Cup Semi-Final first leg. Probably the most amazing Rs game I've ever watched, and I only saw the - extended - TV highlights.

Never forget the night when Terry joined us,my old man even then reckoned he was the bees knees. I think if i remember he was live on a programme called Thames Sport with some scottish presenter, explaining why he walked out on them to join us. At the time he was the manager of the so called 'team of the eighties' as Crystal Palace were known then. But you kind of get a warm feeling when you know the right man is in charge, that was a great apponitment in our history!!!!
cheers,
Jay

One of my memories of that match was Tony Hazell lying down for a rest in the centre circle. It was a frantic match, backwards and forwards and I think Hazell was just knackered and stayed down.

Yes. Lovely day, too, if I remember. Pitch gleaming bright green. Our 'good form' before this result - and their poor performances - shows that the next game you play has nothing to do with the last one. The mythical 'good runs' are always carefully edited to right length to make the required point.
