Very strange. Means fans can't drive or take train?
Bristol City Official Site - SWANSEA GAME IS BUBBLE MATCH
Bristol City's trip to Swansea City in September will operate under restricted coach-only travel (bubble trip) for visiting supporters.
City visit the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday, September 15th (7.45pm) in the Coca-Cola Championship, and the club hoped its supporters would be able to travel unrestricted to the game.
However, despite lengthy discussions with Swansea City FC and South Wales Police, the fixture has again be designated a bubble match for City fans, meaning they can only attend by travelling on official coaches.
Group Managing Director Doug Harman says: "I'm very disappointed with this decision, particularly bearing in mind our last fixture at Ashton Gate (against Swansea) passed without problems and our initial discussions with the police and Swansea were very positive.
"However, together with Avon & Somerset Police we only have jurisdiction over the Ashton Gate fixture, whilst Swansea City and South Wales Police have the final say over the Liberty Stadium match.
"Bristol City and Avon & Somerset have made strong representations to Swansea City and South Wales Police, but they have been firm and taken the decision not to relax travel for our supporters in September. It's unfortunate but out of our control and there is nothing we can now do to change their position."
Swansea travel to Bristol for the return fixture on April 10th 2010, and it's likely that Swans supporters will be able travel unrestricted for that match.
Doug explained: "The club, along with Avon & Somerset Police will push ahead with our plan to relax travel for Swansea supporters for the return fixture in April 2010.
"The hope is that the match passes without incident so we can demostrate to South Wales Police and Swansea City that bubble trips are not necessary in the future - our aim, of course, is to make it easier for Bristol City supporters to follow the team."
Full ticket arrangements will be announced shortly.
