I was gutted in the 70's when reading about clubs that had folded. Accrington being one out of the League. I still hold hope for Workington to make a come back, as well as Bradford Park Avenue.
Great draw for us.

Magilton/Official Site
MAGILTON: CUP DRAW REACTION Posted on: Thu 13 Aug 2009Jim Magilton is expecting another tough test in the second round of the Carling Cup, after last night's draw pitted the R's against Accrington Stanley. Accrington knocked out higher league opposition, in the shape of Walsall, in round one and Magilton is wary of the threat posed by the League Two side. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, the R's gaffer said: "I'm happy we've got a home draw. "It'll be nice to be at Loftus Road, especially when you take into account the travelling we've got in the early part of the season. "This competition is one we want to progress in, but it won't be easy against a good Accrington side. I know John Coleman very, very well and he'll be looking to come here and cause an upset, that's for sure. "But we want to get into the hat for the next round and we'll approach it in a very professional manner, like we do every match." www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~1752750,00.html

Unfortunately, I feel that the club will try and take the p!ss and charge £15 which is a fiver too much for the occassion & opposition in question.

Lancashire Telegraph - Accrington Stanley disappointed with QPR draw
- ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman has bemoaned his club’s luck after they missed out on Premier League opposition in the draw for the second round of the Carling Cup. Instead Stanley have been handed a trip to QPR, with the tie likely to take place on August 25.
- The fixture will pit the cash-strapped Reds against one of the wealthiest clubs in England, with the Championship club currently owned by a consortium including the eighth richest man in the world, Lakshmi Mittal, as well as Formula 1 moguls Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone. - But it is unlikely to be selected for live screening and may not provide Stanley with the financial boost they need as they attempt to pay off a £300,000 tax bill. - “Obviously we wanted a money-spinner and I don’t think that will be a money-spinner,” said Coleman. - “We’ll have to do the next best thing and beat them. - “The way things have gone for us over the last couple of years, I wouldn’t be surprised if we were an orange and everyone else was a normal-sized ball in the draw! - "We don’t ever seem to get a money-spinner. It’s the luck of the draw but we just need a leg up.” - It will be the first meeting between the two clubs for almost 50 years. - Stanley last faced QPR back in January 1960 in the old Division Four. - The Reds booked their trip to Loftus Road after beating the Saddlers 2-1 on Tuesday night, with goals from Bobby Grant and Paul Mullin. - The tie will be played on the week commencing August 24.
