And from the Football League
ONES TO WATCH: CHAMPIONSHIPEvery season more and more home grown players burst on to the scene with well over 8,000 young players between the ages of 8 and 18 registered with League clubs.
Following the introduction of the new 'Home Grown' players rule and use of seven substitutes we could see even more youngsters making their name this season.
Here we have a look at who could be stealing the headlines this season in the Coca-Cola Championship.
Sean Scannell (Crystal Palace)
Despite his tender age of just 18 Sean Scannell already has a long list of admirers and silverware to his name.
The Crystal Palace winger was named the club's Young Player of the Year in 2008 and followed that up by being named last season's Apprentice of the Year in the Coca-Cola Championship at The Football League Awards.
He made his first team debut back in December 2007 and scored his first goal just two appearances later, netting a 90th minute winner at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
He has since gone on to make 52 appearances for the Eagles, scoring five goals.
He has also represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level, qualifying through his father. He has played for the U17, U19 and Under 21's before being named in a recent senior training squad.
His brother Damian is a striker with Southend United.
Josh Wright (Sc**thorpe United)
Josh Wright is back in the Championship after swapping Charlton Athletic for newly promoted Sc**thorpe United but for the 19-year-old it will be his first real chance to prove himself at this level.
The midfielder has over 50 senior appearances to his name but all bar two have come out on loan during spells with Barnet, Brentford and Gillingham and he has also had the experience of winning the Play-Offs at Wembley - starring in last season's League 2 showpiece with the Gills.
Wright signed professional for Charlton in April 2007 after coming through the ranks and enjoyed his first taste of action in the following September joining Barnet on loan, where he went on to make 35 appearances, scoring once in the 2-1 home win against Bradford.
Last season he spent a month at Brentford, before returning to the Valley and making his debut in the 1-1 home draw with Burnley. Two more appearances against Barnsley and Norwich followed before he was back out on loan - this time at Gillingham where he made eight appearances, including all three Play-Off matches.
He has also represented England at U16, U17, U18 and most recently U19 level.
Simon Church (Reading)
Simon Church returns to Reading hoping to stake a claim for a starting place at the Madejski Stadium after enjoying loan spells at Crewe Alexandra, Yeovil Town, Wycombe Wanderers and most recently Leyton Orient, where he scored four goals in 13 games last season.
The 20-year-old began his career with Wycombe but joined the Royal at the age of 14, he then came through the ranks at Reading and was an unused substitute in a Carling Cup tie in August 2007.
He then spent time on loan at Crewe and Yeovil, scoring once in 20 games.
Last season started with a three month spell at Wycombe, where he made nine appearances without scoring but Leyton Orient beckoned and the goals soon came. He scored his first goal on his fifth appearance for the club, netting the third goal in a 3-1 win at Carlisle United.
Church is also Captain of the Wales Under 21 squad.
