Anyone actually have any info re this? From TheJerusalem PostActor Gregg Sulkin has recently made waves as the teen-heartthrob boyfriend of actress-singer Miley Cyrus. However, the 17-year-old is also a soccer star ready to break out on his own and make a name for himself not only in Hollywood, but in the 2009 Maccabiah Games as well. Sulkin, who has acted in various films and television shows -- including the Disney Channel comedy "As the Bell Rings" and the Paul Weiland film "Sixty Six" with Helena Bonham Carter -- has come to Israel, his second visit to the country, to represent Britain in soccer. The teen, who plays a defensive position, has been kicking around a soccer ball since the age of four. After playing in various elite soccer leagues in England such as QPR, West Ham and Tottenham, Sulkin sustained a knee injury and was unable to play."I was out for about a year," says Sulkin, "and that's why I'm so excited to be here. The first time I played since my injury was at the trial for Maccabiah, so I was happy I didn't really lose my touch. Obviously I was a bit rusty, but I still hadn't lost it completely."... www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1246443855476&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

A profile from couple years ago "... I support Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers, and have played for the academy sides at Queens Park Rangers for 4 years and West Ham for 2 years" The barmitzvah boy By Lauren Wallis - Thursday 19th 2006f October 2006 Gregg Sulkin as Bernie Reuben in Sixty SixHe may be just another relatively young Jewish boy from Swiss Cottage, but Gregg Sulkin is certainly managing to accomplish a lot more than the average teenager. The Highgate School student and St John?s Wood synagogue member is about to make his big screen debut in Sixty Six, and is incredibly excited about the prospect of doing so: ?Filming Sixty Six was a fantastic experience and the cast and crew were very helpful and friendly. When I heard that Helena Bonham Carter would be playing the part of my mother in the film, I was extremely nervous and scared because I thought as she was such a big actress, she wouldn't talk to me. But it was completely the opposite. She was a lovely person who was always willing to help me. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, caring and amazing screen mother. It was such a privilege to work with a true professional.? At the age of just 14, Gregg has done incredibly well to land the lead role in what looks set to be a box-office smash. Sixty Six takes place in the summer of 1966, and tells the story of 12-year-old Bernie Reuben, a youngster looking forward to celebrating his imminent bar-mitzvah. But there is one thing standing in his way ? the World Cup final on the same day. As the rest of the country look forward to cheering England on in the competition, Bernie dreads the thought of no-one turning up on his big day. Gregg?s own bar-mitzvah could not have been more different. He said: ?It was last year in Israel by the Western Wall. It was very emotional for my family and it was very special to me. I would have been very upset if no-one had come.? The football theme of the film is echoed in true life, though, as Gregg gladly verifies: ?I support Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers, and have played for the academy sides at Queens Park Rangers for 4 years and West Ham for 2 years.? An all-round sportsman, Gregg also has a keen interest in tennis and was national Eton Fives Champion, but due to other pursuits, doesn?t have enough time to play it now. The majority of his time is taken up by football and educational commitments, and this school year is a particularly important one for him as he is about to embark on his GCSE studies: ?I need to work really hard at school this year ? it?s going to be a big one. I missed over two months because of my filming schedule but luckily, I had a tutor on set who was very nice to me. I also have to thank my school for letting me make the film. I had to ask the Deputy Head for permission and she kindly granted it. But of course I would love to do another film as I enjoyed making the last one so much. I have a lot of things to concentrate on, which I enjoy doing.? So what is next for superkid Sulkin? ?I have just finished playing the part of Buzz Aldrin's son Michael in a TV opera which should be televised around Chanukah time. I was also a narrator for a short film called the Rotten Apple. Hopefully more films are in the pipeline ? I?d love to be the next Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt!? www.totallyjewish.com/entertainment/features_and_reviews/?content_id=4618
