Not that he's coming to QPR, but interesting
Sportbox - Former Internazionale boss Roberto Mancini has been named the Serie A coach of the year for last season.
Mancini, 43, was dumped by Inter in favour of Jose Mourinho during the summer despite leading the club to three straight Serie A titles.
The former Italy forward has yet to return to work following his dismissal but has been named the winner of the Panchina D'Oro award for the 2007-08 campaign.
The accolade - which translates as the 'Golden Bench' award - was won in each of the past two seasons by Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli.
"I want to thank all the coaches that have voted for me," said Mancini. "I also want to thank the Inter players who made it possible."

Goal.com - Mancini: Not Missing The Bench
Former Inter coach Roberto Mancini claims he is not missing his coaching role on the bench, according to tuttomercatoweb...
Roberto Mancini received the 'Panchina d'Oro' award in Italy on Monday, given to the best coach in Italy through a vote of other coaches and club officials.
'Mancio' succeeds Cesare Pranelli for the award and he revealed an interesting tidbit upon hearing the Fiorentina coach had voted for him.
"Prandelli voted for me," confirmed the ex-Lazio tactician. "Well I voted for him last season..."
The coach has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, as according to reports, Bernd Schuster is close to the sack after a series of bad results. However, Mancini revaled he is not in any hurry to resume his coaching career.
"I'm not missing my time on the bench, not even in terms of nostalgia," he claimed. "Sometimes it's good to wait and rest."
Although, if the rumours are to be believed, then Mancini will not be resting or waiting much longer, as he is reportedly the top candidate for the Real Madrid head coaching position.
