Port Vale Official Site - VALE PROGRAMME HONOUR
Vale programme editor Dave Johnson was today celebrating yet another award for the match day magazine after Vale's publication was voted third best in the country.
'Black & White' finished in the top ten last season, but all of the hard work done on last season's programme has proved worthwhile, although Vale's programme was pipped into second spot in League Two by overall winner GrimsbyTown.
Dave said: "A lot of work goes into producing the Vale programme, from planning the content, the design, and of course interviews, photos, writing - and let's not forget the proof-reading.
"There are several people who volunteer their services with no pay whatsoever - they do it for the love of the club.
"I was a bit disappointed at first when I saw we had finished runners-up in League Two, but when I realised we had finished third overall my disappointment turned to joy.
"We try to freshen up the programme each season with new features. Some changes are enforced due to circumstances and others are made in order to introduce new ideas.
"Everybody involved should take some of the credit and they should all be proud of the part they have played in our success.
"The biggest challenge now is to keep up the good work and improve even further. It won't be easy at all, but we intend to give it a good go."
