19th November 2008; Paulo Sousa appointed QPR Manager.
23rd November 2008; Gary Borrowdale signed against new Managers wishes.
I make that a full four days before the new managers authority was completely undermined & the writing was on the wall, a truly impressive effort / undertaking, well done to all concerned!
"Onwards & Upwards" ! An official WATRB'S mantra repeated in the days following Sousa's "Sacking"

I politely decline your kind invite to join your group. I actually feel quite sorry for Borrowdale. Talk about being messed about. The whole saga has has had a detrimental effect on his career and I don't see what he has done to deserve being in the middle of this whole sorry mess. Poor guy and now london wants to ban him. Guess upstairs is full and no standing room left downstairs!

No Mark, you misunderstand. By continuing to bring his name up it just focusses on a really messy mess which
no one wanted. Its not his name, but I am sure by keeping up the memories and the details it just serves to
carry on painful reminders. Not just for us but for Gary. Yes he was rudeley treated and it will carry on in his career.
until he gets a chance to prove himself. Borrowdale wont disappear but to make it the sine qua non of last season
and its disappointments I find noxious. Sousas' need to hang on to this is up to Sousa. I am sure there are many other
incidents last season that have been disturbing for him, b'dale is not the lynchpin.
Yes, you did bring up a very important issue that can hurt a football player. So at this point there will be no call for a ban but
perhaps see it as an indicator of the whole sorry mess since and before Sousa was appointed, and perhaps that is what Mike
means, but again the future has to be the focus and that perhaps the new leadership will perform more sensibly.

Ah but those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it, etc.
So if you keep "the system" in place - just as if you just let it pass what happened previously, will just see more of it. And I've seen no other changes.
Just remember "The Truth Will Set you Free"

I dont think anyone wants to keep the system in place, nor could anyone forget what has happenned. Freud said if you dont understand your past history, you are condemned to repeat it. Setting yourself free may or may not happen. I know you are an avid and expert historian of QPR, however has understanding the trials and tribulations of our team helped it to achieve any recent success. But I digress.
There is no one on this board that wants to let the past pass, so I take issue with your concept of my comments. But that doesnt reduce my respect for you nor your opinion. I just find it in good spirit and in the spirit of dialogue.

At the time of the Borrowdale signing, Dave McIntyre wrote:
Dave McIntre/Ealing Gazette - Borrowdale joins from Coventry QPR have agreed the signing of Coventry full-back Gary Borrowdale. The former England U21 international is set to join Rangers on loan with a view to a permanent move for an undisclosed fee when the transfer window opens in January. Borrowdale, 23, joined Coventry from Crystal Palace for around £650,000 in July last year. He has since lost his first team place and was recently told he could leave the Sky Blues if another club came in for him. That alerted QPR, who were interested in buying him last January but were told then that he would cost £1.5m. Borrowdale is likely to be in the Rangers squad for Saturday's game against old club Palace at Selhurst Park....Ealing Gazette
Initially I thought hey Dowie wanted him at QPR and Paladini just "facilitated" but of course, Dowie wasn't at QPR then.

Yes, but a dog serves a usefull purpose. It appears on the surface that paladinis only purpose is to F*** QPR over and make some dosh whilst doing it. 140k interest free loan + 850k fine = Paladini
