Bump! A year ago, Ipswich fans were expressing their views about the prospects of Magilton taking over at QPR. (They didn't think too highly of him as a manager)...It wasn't for almost another fortnight+ before Magilton was actually appointed

And just on the matter of managers and Chairmen One year ago, as Barnet were set to sign Jake Cole, then Barnet manager, Ian Hendon "" It's a difficult one at QPR, you never know if to go through the manager or the chairman," May 16, 2009: Bees optimistic of Cole deal Barnet are hopeful of signing QPR goalkeeper Jake Cole following a successful loan spell with the club. The 23-year-old made 10 appearances for the Bees at the end of the recent League Two campaign as manager Ian Hendon looked for a permanent replacement for club stalwart Lee Harrison who is serving as his assistant. And Harrison admits that the club are aiming to bring Cole back to Underhill, with Hendon already entering negotiations with the player. "It's a difficult one at QPR, you never know if to go through the manager or the chairman," he told PA Sport. "Jake Cole is definitely one of the ones we'll be looking at. "Ian has already spoken to him and his agent about coming here. He's played 10 games here already and it's not so hard to introduce him to the squad. "He did ever so well during that time but he's got to sort out the financial side and whether he's happy to come here." uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/16052009/63/bees-optimistic-cole-deal.html

Sacked him because he spent £12 million & took us backwards. Played his old team mates every week even though they were rubbish & left far better players out of the squad because they weren't his bum chums.
He publicly slated any player that refused to lick his rear leading to a massive divide in the dressing room. He refused to talk to the press & stormed out of a press conference because they didn't suck up to him. He refused to take any responsibilty for poor performances, but slated individual players & blamed them for defeats. He has very few contacts in the game so mostly signed Irish unknowns & his old teammates.
The list goes on & on. Basically he's an egomaniac who thinks he's a fantastic manager when he's actually pretty poor. Maybe after about 10 years practice in the lower leagues he might make it, but he is nowhere near it now. He did ok with no money, but with your money he is the last bloke you want. He'll spend it all on cr@p & you'll get nowhere.
