I guess that means no signing announcement today:

IanJTaylor @IJTaylor81

Two press conferences today. One to announce a new commercial deal; the other to unveil Ji-Sung Park to the Korean press. #AsiaTour #QPR

He's not British or EEC national - he must have a work permit to work in UK.
Once a foreigner has been lawfully in UK for 7 years they can apply for British Citizenship... dunno if that applies to Junior though.
I'm not sure how the work-permits operate but it appears his application needs re-assessing or re-newing.... I presume his permission to remain in UK was granted for the length of his contract with Rovers (which has expired of course).

Thursday or Wednesday is my prediction. The guys get back from Asia on Wednesday morning and I doubt they'll announce it while abroad.

Does anyone know who and where do we play fir the first friendly in Germany on the 4th of August? Augsbourg is too far away for me, but if the first game is in Baden-Wurtemberg, I'm thinking of taking my car and drive to the game...

Junior aspirin: Massive fee would ease the pain of losing Hoilett to QPR says Kean

Blackburn Rovers contract rebel will not be moving without the thick end of 6million changing hands or some sort of swap involving Jamie Mackie

Constipation: Blackburn's wantaway Canadian striker David Junior Hoilett wants to get things moving

QPR will have to pay a big fee for Junior Hoilett as Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean stands firm on his contract rebel.

Mark Hughes men are set to confirm the signing of Canadian attacker Hoilett despite live interest from German side Borussia Monchengladbach.

But Kean warned there will be a big tribunal demand - over 6 million - from Rovers if they cannot agree a fee or get an agreement to take top target Jamie Mackie in exchange.

Compo: Steve Kean would seek tribunal payout for Blackburn over Junior Hoilett
Getty

Kean said: QPR might make us an offer, if not it might go to a tribunal. We were always hopeful he would go to a club here because the compensation would be greater.

Manchester City got a chunky figure when Daniel Sturridge went to Chelsea. We have had Junior for a long time and we developed him and put a lot of time and effort into him.

I am sure that will be reflected when the time comes.

Kean wants Mackie as part of the deal but admitted it would be a fight and said: There are plenty of good players down there. But we are finding out that clubs like to keep their best players.

Rovers are also unhappy with Hoilett for leaving without saying a word, only finding out about his medical at QPR second hand.

Hoilett was brought to England by Blackburn as a kid and put through school before becoming a first-team player after a lengthy work permit battle.

Kean said: We feel we have been a big part of his development. It would have been nice to get a call.

We had monthly meetings with his dad and he said he was keeping his options open. His dad is his agent and has been all around the world looking for offers.

HAHAHAHAHAHA OMG Sturridge (who at the time was rated as one of the best young English talents) went to Chelsea for £3m. If Kean thinks he can get £6m then he's quite simply the biggest idiot on this planet.

Of course now I've said that the comment will come back to bite me in the arse and we will have to pay £6m [image] [image]

He definitely is...

This signing could take longer than expected, but Kean is just trying to scare us off Hoilett, or to get a decent player from us. I agree he won't cost us more than £2-3 millions. Anyway, with Paladini long gone, I don't worry, we'll handle this correctly and Hoilett's gonna be a R for the start of the season. I hope so at least.

I can't see what Blackburn could do to prevent us from having Hoilett. He has no contract there, he is free, so he can join any club he wants. Of course, we might have to pay a little compensation, but £6m is almost the price we'd have to pay if JH had a contract at Blackburn, so we'll never have to pay him that much now he's free.

Can he come to us first before compo is sorted or does the compo need to be signed sealed before we get him.?
Remember the FA dont seem to like us that much so I can see Hoilett
going for an all time record compo fee. :-/

The more I read about Steve Kean, the less I like him.

Charm offensive with his own fans last year has him in court for slandering Allardyce.

Quite willing to fcek up Chris Sambas life just to keep him away from us.

Now bigging up Hoillet fee.

I wont shed a tear when he loses in court and is fired.

Blackburn have recently shed their longstanding Safety Officer. Steve Kean's brother-in-law owns and runs a security company.

I'm sure the two are entirely unrelated.

I've seen one thread on all their boards, seems not many people actually use them. That one thread was having a go at Hoilett for not staying with them and calling him a money grabber. Think they're a bit bitter

If we have him for anything less than £5'000'000, it's a bargain, considering the quality of the player. Chelsea will have to pay 10m for Moses. Of course JH's a free player, and we shouldn't pay a massive fee for him, but he's 22 years old, proven in the Prem, a bright prospect. We won't regret it if we can get him.

According to this article http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/8460232.stm

City wanted £10m for Sturridge but got £3.5m rising to £6.5m on appearances.

Sturridge will cost Chelsea an extra £1m if he makes an international appearance, with a further £500,000 due after first-team appearance 10, 20, 30 and 40.

City will also be due a 15% sell-on fee if Sturridge were to leave Stamford Bridge.

Tribunals usually please the buying club more so than the selling club when they set the price in this type of situation.

Steve Kean is just making the noises that he thinks Rovers fans want to hear, though the only thing they want to hear from him in reality is 'goodbye'.

I can't believe he's still in a job up there. It's become so obvious that Venky's are more concerned in having a 'yes man' than an actual decent manager. It really is a crazy situation!

i would be bitter if i were a blackburn fan, selling him to another team and having to listen to that clown of a manager.

nuttink wrong with being bitter, unless its from yourself.

If it was a proper transfer fee he would be worth at least double that so yes it is worth it. We don't need Hoilett but we also don't NEED Ki or NEED another CB. He is a player that will add major quality to the squad.

Check out BRFCS. A little bit larger than QPR Report - but I would argue that ours is a little more, er' select shall we say. BP mentioned disliking Keen; fill yer boots BP.
I found this site last year and when it seemed like the world was ending for us at various times of the year for various reasons I could always count on this site proving that there was someone else worse off. For hatred, bitterness, chaos, confusion and owners who are the REAL headless chickens, ladies and gentlemen I give you BRFCS

Could be totally wrong here (I hope I'm not!) but I don't think he'll go for anything like £6m. Out of contract, desperate to leave, as legitimate reason considering the relegation and it's simply a tribunal cost - but Kean can't lay down the tribunal cost. It's just bluster. Will be shocked if we have to spend anything close to 6 million (even though he's probably worth that).
