News of Battletank (Ben Humphrey) - Someone I've, I think fairly described, as the Spiritual Godfather of the QPR Messageboard World - and the old .org was where I used to post (excessively!)

Anway Posted on the QPR.org News from Battletank. (I believe strongly in not copy/pasting from other boards. But every rule has an exception)

Here's to a Speedy Recovery

My first time online in two weeks, and to warn that I may not be around much for a few more.

My motorbike and I had a little coming together with someone who decided to do a u-turn on the A316 in Twickenham.

Fortunately, helmet and leathers prevented anything worse than shattered limbs. Less fortunately, the shattering is quite significant in one arm, and isn't going to heal quickly, if at all. All other limbs/ankles/wrists are now titanium enhanced, and I hope to be on my feet again soon.

I'll be online when I can, but this short message took about 2 hours to type on my phone.

Bleedin' idjits doing u-turns and not noticing bikers. >:(

Happens all the bloody time.

A mate of mine got taken out by a black cab in Regents Park a month ago, doing a u-turn and is still unable to walk because of his back injury.

I had some dumb f*cker reverse out of his drive on me the other day and I had to take evasive action and swing out into the oncoming lane, where thankfully there was no traffic coming towards me, otherwise I might have been in the hospital bed next to Battletank!

Best wishes to Battletank, hope you are back on your bike soon after making a full recovery.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery Ben, keep being positive mate.

Back in the Days of the mid-1990s and on: There was the Official Site Board, which I almost never used. There was Rivals. And there was Battletank's QPR.org (and a couple smaller ones). But the .org was I'd say the main one. Certainly the one I used. And that was operated/and run by Battletank. (Back when I first posted as Macmoish).

And then after a number of years, and it's complicated/different versions, Battletank stopped for a while...Drew Garro that site...and later created the QPRdot.org...and basically everyone went there and the original .org is basically a shadow of what it was. And there's more.

Battletank is indeed an Honorary Moderator of this board - as is Clive Whittingham and Dave Thomas (and a few others, including Rodneeee and BP) very graciously agreed to do this. Sadly with the exception of BP, that part of my aspiration where everyone would come and post, didnt quite (at least as of yet!) work out.

lol Don't worry scarlet. I'm not Weavie. Was just humouring cpr.

Some years back Weavie told me he liked my name and that he was going to copy it. I thought he was kidding until I logged onto a site. Can't remember now but think it was Loft for Words and cpr thought I was Weavie, as he had actually changed his name on some sites to supercatt.

He did it first on the .org, trust me, sp also knows this. SP is weavie's best mate, weavie loves him more than he loves Flavio. ;D
