Just been chatting on the phone to Mark Lazarus. Off to have coffee with him shortly. He asked me to send his best wishes to any of you who remember him.

Think I'll ask him if he wants to come back. He'll be better than SWP and will give us a few laughs in his own inimitable style at the same time.

Mark doesn't have a PC, Rory. He readily admits he doesn't know the first thing about computers and doesn't really want to know about them. He also has only a passing interest in football now. Feels it has been ruined by money. Can't say I would disagree with him on that one.

The thought occurs to me that if any of you have any questions you would like to put to him, I would be happy to take them, along with my pocket dictating machine, and let you have his replies afterwards. I am sure he would be happy to oblige.

Feel free to post your questions here or pm me.

Incidentally, he gave me a mild rollicking for not getting in touch with him for a while. That's the sort of bloke he is. Can you imagine Joey Barton saying something like that? Mark was a better player than JB ever could be - a true legend in QPR history.

What a player he was for us, Mark on one wing and Roger Morgan on the other, Supplying Rodney and Les Allen....and a hatfull of goals for themselves.........plus Mark Roger and Rodney in the league cup final.................those were the days.

I'd like to ask what made Mark choose football over boxing? and a common question for veterans of an earlier time in football, what was your weekly wage at QPR in the 66/67 season?

It's early this morning and my brain has not completely kicked into gear.

In another little game I was at, the League Cup final, did Mark get the winner?

I remember him bustling into the goalie, just can't remember if it was the 1st or the 3rd. Think it was the winner and I know peeps will come on screaming at me for forgetting :(

It was definitely the winning goal, Bill. Now, would we come screaming at you? No, of course not! I have the dvd of the game and never tire of watching it.

I think it was Ron Hunt who 'bustled' into the 'keeper. Mark picked up on the loose ball, scored the winner, and then went to have a chat with the fans while they tried to revive the keeper who had been knocked out by the 'bustle'.

Mark says he is happy to answer them to the best of his ability but not too much about present day football as he is not a great fan of the modern game.

What would he wish the club to do vis-a-vis its relationships with former players. What could they be doing/what would would he like them to be doing/what are otehr clubs doing vis-a-vis former players that Mark knows?

Is it the money, speed, cheating, refs, ball, fans, foreigners, chairmen or just lack of technical ability of the English players
