QPR to face Shots in pre-season friendly

31/05/2012
by West London Sport

QPR are to visit League Two side Aldershot Town for a pre-season friendly on Tuesday 24 July.

It will be Rangers’ first visit to the Recreation Ground since 2009, when they were starting the troubled reign of Jim Magilton.

The match will kick-off at 7.45pm.

That's after the Asia tour right????

Beats the usual non-league match.

Really hope this year we manage to get one of the big European teams like Madrid or Milan over to LR for a friendly, Leicester had Madrid over last season so it's not impossible.

Well because of the Olympics I think there won't be any games in London while they're on

Went to the last aldershot friendly after we had just signed fourlin, he was waiting for clearance to play, came out for a kick about at half time.....could tell just by him stroking the ball around that he had class.

We won that 4-1 I seem to recall? Quite a decent little game! I remember Gareth Ainsworth playing, thought he was brilliant lol!

Aldershot Official Site

Shots to play Premiership opposition in pre-season friendly

Aldershot Town FC are pleased to announce that Premiership side Queens Park Rangers will be at the EBB stadium to play a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, July 24th.

Rangers, who are managed by former Welsh international Mark Hughes, retained their Premiership status on the very last day of the 2011/12 season and played their part in the dramatic conclusion of the title chase.

QPR were previously at the EBB in 2009, also for a pre-season friendly, a game which they won 4:0

The match will kick-off at 7.45pm

The QPR team that travels to Aldershot on Tuesday 24th July will be an Under-21 side, hence why no big announcement. #QPR

That then will be the yardstick for determining any QPR pre-season announcements

Disappointed that it's an U21 side, I liked the shots pre-season games, might go anyway, bit like when the reserves played there.
