Firmly believe either everything is sacred or nothing is sacred and as such I was not offended by mike hunt.

But this isn't my board, and i don't make the rules, so I'll respect those that do make the rules, and respect their decisions whether i would make the same decisions or not.

Find this thread to be interesting yet bizarre to be honest.

Hitman why don't you ask mikehunt why he behaved as he did and if he feels any remourse or regret?

It won't make any difference regarding his ban but it would be good to know anyway.

There is no doubt Mike Hunt deserved to be banned, as others before him. We reallydont need help in

understanding who comes here to push the envelope constantly nor those that come here to cause

splits, doubts, and try everyones patience. Then there are some that we let back that keep banging

away at trying to be "martyred", again.

I must have missed a lot of his best work then as I have little recollection of this Hunt geezer other than that his username really was unsuitable for a public forum.

Got to play by the rules and abide by the Moderators decisions though.

Hunt has been banned but there is room for more if they cannot obey the ethos and rules of this site. Thankfully the bans have been very few indeed.

Although there are some on other MB's that continually proclaim that they have been banned on here, but if they tried to, they would find that they can indeed login. Instead they prefer to bang their own Martyr drum. If that's what they want so be it for them to choose.

Off the top of my head I think there's been about 4- 6 banned users and 3-5 of them are not obvious persons from other well known websites. Some like to forever portray the victim and they can come on here anytime they wish to. The price of Martyrdom I guess.

Banning a user on this site is done with consultation amongst the Mods so that a consensus is agreed upon as we each view things differently. Banning is only done once all the right buttons have been pushed by the alleged offender, not on a snap decision time scale. We like to let one hang themselves properly before any action is taken.

Anyway, Mike Hunt managed to suceed where others have failed.

Well said Al. Some of the pictures he was posting towards the end crossed the line and they were extremely offensive in a way that ramped up the meaning of offensive. I would imagine that they were taken down fairly quickly and the mods decision made shortly after. Not only were there the vids that Al mentioned but for me the picture of Rory's 'date' finished it.

well, seems like the majority have voted to keep the ban in place. I fully support the majority dicision along with my own personal opinion of giving everyone a second chance.

The biggest worry which has come to light though is the fact that no matter which way the vote would have went, the decision between the mods will always stand.

i ask you mods one question.............................

Where would this message board be without its posters? not valuing or supporting or even deliberating over a majority opinion of posters views on any particular matter (one example this thread) only serves to alienate not only the posters but also the views of that majority.

This message board is as much owned by the people who contribute a viarty of views on any given subject matter as much as it belong to those of you who create, moderate and police it.

1. Forums/messageboards aren't a democracy. Site Admin/Moderators are here to make these decisions with the messageboard's members' best wishes at heart. As they have already said, they don't take these decisions likely so, when they do decide to take this type of decision, they will have an absolute 100% consensus that it will be the correct one so why on earth would they then even think about changing it based on opinions from those who were not privy to all the facts or the discussion that took place leading up to it.

2. Polls on messageboards are there to gauge opinions on set subjects bit should rarely e used in order to change moderating decisions, especially given that 21 votes is hardly representative of the membership.

3. At the end of the day, it's the Admins/Mods responsibility to ensure that the board remains a friendly place to be therefore it should be solely down to them to make such decisions.

As a moderator of another forum, the above is my opinion based on personal experience.

One other point to make, not only is it in threads that we judge but also various pm's sent to the various mods which the general users do not see nor know the contents of other than the sender. When a lot of personal complaints are received we do have to investigate it and then again, make a consensus call.

We try to be fair to the overall membership. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

Why is it that you slated this site and the users on another MB anyway? So far in this thread you have been given ample lattitude to express yourself and you have done so. So you cannot accuse this site, it's members nor it's moderators of not giving you a fair chance and go as expressing your views.

Might be wrong or missread hitmans supposed final thread, but i thought he left this board cos most of us supported warnock and to an extent still do..............NOTHING HAS CHANGED, and a good number of us still appreciate what NEIL done for this club.

Good bit of fishing by Hitman here, he is trying to rumble things up a bit. Everyone that posts here knows the rules and 99.9% follow them.

The mods make the decisions about banning/not banning and they do a great job.

While I've been on this site I can think of 3 people that have been banned, all of them deserved.
