Just noticed on the Offy he is not listed as on loan from Nancy.
Does anyone recall if he originally was?
Also noticed he is listed on the Prem site as a permanent deal.

Noticed today (via dave mac) we are linked with De Jong from City, although we were linked with him in Jan, I'd be surprised if we need him, with Diakite signing? I assumed the worse - I'd much rather Diakite - he is the mutts nutts.

We certainly will have pulled off a massive coup if we have signed him, have no doubts whatsoever that he can become a massive player for us.

Diakite will be the best player we will have signed in 10 years. A little inside info for you all. He has been struggling with this virus ever since he came back from the African nations cup so it makes his performances all the more impressive!! Wait until he is fully fit.......the next Viera..I said it first!

I honestly think you are right too compare him to the "Great Viera" . Very similar player he will attract a lot of attention and when he comes to move on I think he will go for considerably more than Tarby.

Just a thing: Nancy don't want to have him back, because they can't afford it. They need the money they'll get from us. I talked about that with a AS Nancy Lorraine fan two days ago. He didn't know whether we'd sign him or not, but if we want to sign him, nothing can stop us from doing so because we've got that buying clause allowing us to buy him before any other club. And as Nancy want to sell, I don't see why we wouldn't have him bad.
I agree with you all that he's been a massive signing. When he just was terrible in his first two games, I didn't worry for him because you could already see that he wanted to impress everyone, he wanted to be at his best, and even if it hasn't worked at the beginning, he was the key for us against Liverpool, Swansea, Arsenal and Spurs. I had the chance to congratulate him for his game after the Spurs game, and he really seemed to be a very nice, sensible, and honest guy.
I really can't wait to see a midfield composed of Diakite and Faurlin. Imagine a 4-4-2 with a midfield made of Taarabt and Mackie on the wings and Faurs and Diakite in central midfield. With Cisse and Zamora upfront, I'd say our offensive department will be really really good next season...

Arghhh.....there's always something with this bloody club:
QPR are set to rush through the permanent £3.2m signing of Samba Diakité after clubs were alerted last night to a possible loophole in his loan deal with Hoops.
The defensive midfielder was signed in January from AS Nancy on a six-month loan that expires June 30.
Back in France it is understood one of the clauses that triggered an automatic €4million (£3.2m) transfer was a minimum number of games for Rs believed to be 10.
The man who plays internationally for Mali made only nine appearances in a Rangers shirt after a virus cut short his season.
Diakité has made plain his desire to join QPR rather than a switch to Marseille or Lyon when he was made available by Nancy.
But those working on his behalf are set to test the water with other Premier League clubs following the player’s impressive start in west London.
A source close to Nancy said: “The club are happy to sell Diakité to QPR for the agreed amount. Nancy is not a club who can afford to turn down a big money offer. But of course he may be desirable to other clubs as well, and the deal has yet to be ratified.”

He''s played 9 games??? If 10 games is the minimum i can smell a rat here?
Wasnt he unable to play the last 2 games of the season due to a 'mystery virus'?
That kinda says to me, 'heyup QPR are gonna get relegated, if you play for them anymore you will will automatically trigger their buy clause for you, and you dont want to be playing in the Championship? ive got interest from elsewhere, fein an injury/illness so your not tied to them'
A rat anyone????

Nah I think I said it 1st mate.Said it as soon as I saw him . http://qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi....ay&thread=29918
Once he learns not to dive in and adapts to the pace of the Prem I think he will be a great addition.Could be our Patrick Vierra. Tell you what you Barton haters could get your way once Ali comes back.Barton could well be fighting for a place, LM Traore CM Diakite CM Faurlin RM Adel >>Barton fighting for matches with SWP ,Buzz ,Mackie and any new addition. This is if we stay in the Prem which I think we will. 17th place my friends .Said it from day 1 ..17th is all we need...
.Not a bad post eh? Diakite being class( Vierra esque), 17th place AND predicting Joey would struggle to get a game next season More than makes up for me giving our Jamie a hard time ..
I'll be GUTTED if we lose out on SAMBA..

This is so typical of QPR though. Would be so gutted if Diakite isn't wearing a QPR shirt next season. I hope we just up our bid to about £4m, an offer they can't afford to turn down.
