Not really a shame at all, far too soon in our evolution to be paying through the nose for a 17 year old kid.

Seen quite a few tweets in the last half hour saying Dawson isn't happy with the terms offered. Hope it's all BS

For what it's worth, this is from the horse's mouth. One of the guys I sing with in my quartet is a Spuds fanatic. He just sent me the following:

"If you get Michael Dawson you will be overjoyed. Why we are selling him is beyond me....he just gives his all in every game."

Another thought here. If we get him, with his passion, commitment and enthusiasm he would surely be an ideal captain for us. Much better than Park.

I honestly think that some of the players agents are going to have us over a barrel. They all know the situation we are in and my worry is that MH will end up getting his third and forth choices.

All meaningless posts on the thread about the thread should be removed and not counted towards the tally.

So there! :P

I would have thought this exactly Gramps but how can you give Park the Captaincy one week and take it the next.

Indeed.

As for the captaincy, as I've mentioned, it should be dished out on a match by match basis. There is no justification for anyone to be permanent captain especially if it's to please those in Asia!

Haven't heard anything about the Carvalho for at least half hour. Is the deal off? Has he seen the video of our first game and gone to Swansea instead?

We seem to be pretty generous with our terms, I think.
So if Dawson doesnt sign, either he's asking exorbitant wages...or he doesntwant us

QPR switch to Shawcross as Dawson deal hits snag over personal terms

Michael Dawson’s £9million transfer to QPR was in danger of collapsing on Wednesday night with the England defender failing to agree personal terms.
It means Rangers are likely to switch their attention to Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross.
Tottenham had accepted an offer for Dawson, 28, from QPR and the player met senior officials of the west London club on Wednesday.

No go: Michael Dawson's move to QPR looks to have fallen through
However, although Rangers are happy to meet his wage demands of around £60,000 a week, there is a problem over bonuses.

It means QPR are forced to consider other options and they were already lining up a shock move for Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho as the race for Dawson became more complex.
QPR have agreed a deal in principle with Jose Mourinho’s side over a season-long loan deal for Portugal centre back Carvalho.
The Loftus Road club were trying to thrash out personal terms with Carvalho’s advisers.

On his way: Ricardo Carvalho is close to completing his move to QPR
Stoke skipper Shawcross was already on Rangers’ radar, with Mark Hughes a long-time admirer. Shawcross has been a regular since joining from Manchester United in 2007, and it is surprising that Stoke may sell for the right price.
Dawson may return to Spurs but Sunderland and Stoke are watching closely and Andre Villas-Boas has already made it clear he has no future at White Hart Lane, despite the player’s popularity with the fans.
Hughes is also on the look-out for a new goalkeeper, casting doubts over Robert Green’s future.

New target: QPR boss Mark Hughes looks set to turn his attention to Ryan Shawcross
Green joined QPR from West Ham earlier this summer, but Sportsmail understands Hughes has made it a priority to sign another goalkeeper, to put pressure on his current No 1, before the transfer deadline on Friday week.
Former England international Green made a costly error to allow Swansea to take an early lead last Saturday, a game Rangers went on to lose 5-0.

What a carry on eh , should have got defenders in first as it was our major weakness. And as for Green well i did not want him anyway, i remember the clangers .
