The only Twitter ITK I trust said that we have already rejected a bid from Blackburn for Mackie and they have made a second bid. He also said there is Premier League interest but doesn't think we want to sell him.

i love Mackie and would like him to stay...

But if Blackburn are really offering him 40k per week, he would be an idiot to turn it down.

He won't get anything like that in one year's time after a year warming the bench.

Fair enuff ,thats brilliant money but Jamie wants Prem football.I can see Blackburn staying down there for a few years yet.
I may be wrong but I cant see the Venky's paying 40k a week to anyone down there.

To me,It seems like Traore´s versatility in a strange way lets him down. Hughes wants a better Fullback and a better midfielder as well. Does that make sense? I´m not sure myself, really!!
I though it was much of a Squad game these days, so why sell him? [image] [image]

I really hope that this is tribal football bllox.I've always rated Traore. Two brilliant crosses last season stick out in my mind .Over to HH for that bullet header v Stoke away? And THAT cross for THAT header by Mackie v Citeh.
I remember his serious nod of intent when Cisse was shouting encouragement to him when he was subbed off cos of Barton .A little while later THAT cross.

The traore rumour doesn't seem to make sense as we have no taiwo and only fabio to play LB, Hughes won't let him go. With the signings we have made and the likely signing of hoilett it's going to be tough for Jamie to get in, however this is exactly what Hughes is looking for, strength in depth. Hughes knows Adel can go missing away from home and he will need the likes of mackie, traore and swp especially during the African Nations. The only question now is who is the defender we need that we are going to sign?
It's all making for a very promising squad for the upcoming season, what do we all think the formation we will favour will be? With a plethora of good midfielders now who will be dropped?

History has shown us that Hughes adopts (quite rightly) a pecking order system - probably not the name he calls it but it's what I call it. With the departure of Taiwo, Traore became our number one left back, Fabio signs and now Traore is our number two left back. Next new left back signing will be someone of even better quality than Fabio, which would knock him to number two position and Traore to surplus to requirements. Until that happens there is no proof that Hughes has previously sold players and left himself short in certain areas.

West Bromwich Albion have rejected a £4m bid from Al-Gharafa for Peter Odemwingie.

After falling out with new boss Steve Clarke, Odemwingie, 31, has made it clear to Baggies' Technical Director Dan Ashworth he wants to leave the Hawthorns.

The wantaway striker is currently part of Albion's squad for their two game tour of Scandinavia, but Al Gharafa boss Paulo Silas is keen to land the big Nigerian and is prepaared to offer him a lucrative three-year deal.

Clarke is willing to cash in on Odemwingie just a year after the striker signed a new long-term deal, but will only do business when a replacement for last season's top scorer is found.

Not sure how much WBA would be looking as a fee for Peter Odemwingie but he's a player I like. Yeah older than Defoe but probably half the price.

Would you??

I rate Odemwingie, but we already have Cissé, Zamora and Johnson (+Bothroyd and Helguson?) for one or two spots. So once Hoilett is signed, I would only like us to sign defenders. Of course is a bargain is possible, but I'd rather us to focus on the areas we really need to improve atm.

What we need now is a CB and rightback IMO.Personally, I would keep Luke Young , but it seems like Hughes has other plans in mind?

Agreed another striker isn't a priority but wouldn't be surprised if we sign another striker. As I said before the fact that Hughes signed Cisse, Zamora and now AJ suggests that DJ and Bothroyd aren't fancied. HH did very well at the start of last season but is he fully fit can we rely on him long term. We have quantity but I suspect Hughes would want more quality. Wouldn't surprise me if we leave it very late for a striker and see how the market goes whilst focusing on other positions.

Buttner was going to Southampton but has some third party ownership issues. We should steer well clear of him.

Would anyone go for Kolo Toure??

Supposedly couldn't agree a deal but it could be because of supposed demands!!

I'd assume that every player has different demands depending on which club or which country they are going to play in and the quality of the team.

Kolo hasn't played regular football for a long time though due to his drugs ban. Would personally prefer someone younger

I'm still hoping we sign Ki after the Olympics even though it's all gone kind of quiet recently

Check out his goal and assist for South Korea today, he's number 6

Yannick Sagbo has admitted he would love to play in the Premier League after being linked with a move to England, but says he has heard nothing concrete from his club Evian.

Speculation has suggested that the Ivory Coast international is a transfer target for both Fulham and Queens Park Rangers.

The striker concedes that he would relish the chance to embark on a new challenge in England and has been particularly impressed from afar by Fulham.

However, he has performed well for Evian in French football over the past couple of years and is not paying much attention to the stories at present.

Relaxed
"I am flattered by the interest in me, but nothing is definite at the moment," he said.

"Evian have not said anything to me about moving to another club, so at this stage I can say it is rumours.

"I would love to play in the Premier League. I was linked before but nothing happened so I am relaxed about it.

"Fulham would be fantastic. They have a top manager and a good bunch of players. I could learn a lot there."

I think we might hear more again after the Asia Tour and after the Olympics. I am sure Ki wants no distractions at the moment.

I'm back from a week in Icmeler (Turkey) and I crave updates, tried reading a couple of pages, and it seems nothing much has happened on the transfer front since they left for Asia. At least not officially, would that be correct?

The rumours are still pretty much the same?

Hoilett has agreed to sign for us, just waiting for a work permit.

Pretty much apart from photographic evidence of Junior Hoilett in the Loftus Road reception.
