Hughes wouldn't have even met the lad if we were not willing to match the £12.8 million release clauseS o that must mean big things are gonna happen. love the way all the guys we sign talk about the big project and now even the one's who don't seem to realise we're going places

Oh for the days of signing the dregs of the market!

At least then our expectations were very low!

I'm really looking forward to July & seeing who we have managed to persuade to come to the Bush. Thankfully we have a manager that knows a good young player when he sees one.

I am looking forward to us signing some "Ones for the Future" either from abroad or from lower divisions.

And also "Stealing" some youths developing elsewhere

Blimey...I hope for his sake that's not true! How could he prefer them to us?? You can't tell me Southampton - or even Fulham for that matter - could offer him a better deal, plus we're a London Club! He'd rather live down there would he? Crazy. Thought this one was in the bag to be fair.

Guess we'll know for sure before long.

Would Dos Santos have been worth a try going after? Spuds are expecting him to leave.

One of our supposed targets signs for Celtic
http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/foot....eltic.18022870?
Forster agrees permanent deal at Celtic

Ronnie Cully
Senior Sports Writer
FRASER FORSTER will sign a contract to become Celtic's permanent goalkeeper after spending the last two seasons at Parkhead on loan from Newcastle.

The decision comes after months of negotiations, and delivers to Neil Lennon the man he has always had at the top of his list for his No.1. In August, Celtic agreed a £2 transfer fee with Newcastle United when theybrokered a deal to bring the 24-year-old back to Parkhead for a second loan spell.

However, personal terms proved to be more of a sticking point, and the Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has been engaged in protracted discussions with the player's agent, Mark Curtis, which, at one point appeared to have stalled.

Craig Gordon, the Scotland goalkeeper and more recently, Sweden internationalist Andreas Isaksson, have been linked with Celtic as Lennon considered options should an agreement with Forster not be reached.

Despite Alan Pardew's announcement on Tuesday that he expected Forster back at St James' Park next week, the player will sign for Celtic in time to report for pre-season training on Monday.

Doesn't mention us but our friend Kolo Toure again

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/spo....-City-exit.html

MANCHESTER CITY are ready to listen to offers for former skipper Kolo Toure.

Turkish club Bursaspor are preparing a move for the Ivory Coast central defender.

But City are keen on getting a fee for Toure — even though he has only one year left on his current deal at the Etihad.

Clubs in the Middle East are also keeping tabs on the former Arsenal star and could offer him a lucrative end to his successful career.

Toure, 31, became a vital player for boss Roberto Mancini when both Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott got injured in March.

But his only appearance during a tense run-in was a five-minute cameo as a sub in the win at Wolves in April.

City insist they will not let him go on a free and are in no rush to sell as his presence at the club helped brother Yaya Toure settle in.

However, they are aware Kolo wants more first-team football and he will not get that with the champions.

Don't think we need him?? At the age of 36 he's still better than most midfielders in the Prem

Yes, but I think we now have all the experience we need. He is still a very good player, but since we can't sign all good players I would rather we used the money we have to sign younger players.

Ordinarily I'd say yes.

But there are some players who are still good at 36+. Giggs and Scholes are two examples and they are still playing at Champions League level this season for one of the best teams in Europe.

Seedorf is in that mould.

It's not a fair compariosn. Thye've played for the same team all along. Seedorf is changing club and league at the same time, that to me makes it a risk and one that I wish we wont take. That said I agree some players can still be an asset at 36.

"UPDATE ON CRAIG BELLAMY "
by Forever Blue » Sat Jun 30, 2012 5:47 pm

Cardiff City will not pay a fee for Craig Bellamy, we want him and he wants to come to us but City will not pay a fee for him, Craig has to sort out his contract at Liverpool if the move is to materialise.

QPR are also interested in Bellers and will look to make a move for him soon, Craig wants to be home with his family and his family of course want him back home, but London could be an attractive move as he can get to home to Cardiff in very little time from London.

What was reported in the media the other day that City will pay £2mill for Bellamy was total nonsense, due to his high wages and signing on fee being so high.

Bellamy is ready to leave Liverpool now, but he has to sort his contract out himself.

Seedorf signs for Botafogo in Brazil
