Exactly. He walked out on Fulham because he believed they lacked ambition, pretty sure he'd do the same here if they was no transfer budget.

I would be surprised if he didnt have enough to buy two quality players aswell as Diakite , 4Million Diakite and 6-7 million for two players like Samba /moses etc so still feel we will spend 16-18milion as well as picking up Nelsen, Green ,Johnson on frees and a couple of loans like Fabio and Jenas ! This way we get 8 players but only pay for two ,although they do get signing on fees and other shite.

It's a lot for us when you think of where we've come from. We don't need much more than £16m though, it's not about how much we spend, it's about who we actually bring in.
We don't actually need too many more players. We have Faurlin coming back, Mackie will hopefully continue his great form, same with Cisse. Just a few positions need strengthening especially after our freebie and loan signings.

Its not alot in Prem terms when you hear Reading might bid nearly 10 million for the Pog. Looks like Chelsea will get Moses going back in with a bigger offer than 4 million and he wants to leave and go there , shame hope he dont rot on the bench and end up feeling like others. would love to have seen Moses at Rangers!

According to Wikipedia this is Sparky's transfers whilst at Fulham -
Transfers After the departure of Chris Smalling to Manchester United, fellow defender Philippe Senderos was Fulham's first signing of the summer when he moved from Arsenal on a free transfer.[7][8] Nicky Shorey and Stefano Okaka both returned to Aston Villa and AS Roma respectively at the end of their loan deals, while Wayne Brown was released.[7] Erik Nevland, Toni Kallio, Christopher Buchtmann, Michael Uwezu, Andranik and Stefan Payne all left the club at the beginning of July.[9] Jonathan Greening committed his future to Fulham by completing a permanent transfer from West Bromwich Albion after a season-long loan. Fulham made further signings following the start of the Premier League season. Moussa Dembélé moved in a £5million deal from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar. Algerian defender Rafik Halliche signed for the club on 24 August from S.L. Benfica for an undisclosed fee. Three days later, Fulham secured a deal to bring Mexican defender Carlos Salcido to the club for £1.5million. On transfer deadline day, defender Paul Konchesky departed to Liverpool, with two young players - Lauri Dalla Valle and Alex Kacaniklic - joining Fulham as part of the deal.[10]
So I make that around £7-8m

I don't think (Career wise) Hughes can "afford" to walk out on QPR right now. He needs a full season - even if he doesn't have the transfer budget he might want.
If he has a good season - without spending masses - and if the future doesn't look promising, then maybe after the season.
However I'm not so sure. We don't have massive Top six budget. But we'll see how much he gets...Throw in wages and signing on fees. And buying Training ground etc. So maybe he's prepared because over longer period, will get more.

How much did we spend in Jan , Onuaha 3.5 ? Cisse 5 ,Zam 5 , cant think who else but 12-15 million? expect around the same , 15-18 million , any less would be amazed! Hughes is here for a while or until a big fish comes in or us ? We 'll stay up this year.

All this talk about how big the budget is at QPR v Foolham is irrelevant in the discussion as to whether Sparky stays or goes. It's about the ambition of the club. If he was given £20 mil and no ambition he would go, but if he was given £15 mil with ambition he would stay. TF has the sort of ambition he wants so he will stay. Well stay until another team with greater ambition wants him!!

I have been sucking a thoughtful tooth about our loan players. Nibbling at the end of my pencil (easy!) and am wondering if the reason we haven't heard anything re: Diakite, Taiwo, etc. is because they are on loan to us until June 30th, the day before the transfer window opens. So, essentially they are still at the club until then (as is Macheda hence he is still on the QPR website), and then their transfers, if they are to occur, will be announced on the 1st July.
I have only a Little Brain, so it takes me a while to come to conclusions.

Pogrebnyak is a free agent. They didn't bid 10 millions, it's the worth of his 4-year-contract.

There is not a lot more to know. He didn't transfer grandmas to cook the pies for the half-time break with his transfer budget. Maybe the agents fees are added to that, but Hughes never had more than 10m at Fulham, because Fulham have never spend so big. They are always looking at bargains.
If the finances were short, the owners wouldn't talk all day long about ambition and how far we could go. They would talk about a more sensible "let's build on last year to be safe before the last game."
We have the money. I'm just happy if we spend it wisely and that's what is happening at the moment. We just don't bid for every Prem Player available as it was the case at the end of last summer. I don't want anymore flops like Barton, SWP, Campbell or Bothroyd, and the key to make a decent transfer window is to be patient.

CHELSEA are preparing a fresh £5m offer for Victor Moses after their opening bid was knocked back.
The Blues made the first move in the race to land the exciting Wigan forward, who is also a target for Liverpool and QPR.
But Wigan chairman Dave Whelan branded Chelsea’s offer – believed to be £4m – “rubbish” and accused the European champions of “taking the Mickey.”
And the Wigan chief warned the Blues it will take a much-improved offer to tempt Wigan to sell one of their big assets.
Moses, a star of Wigan’s successful battle against the drop last season, has just 12 months left on his contract.
Wigan offered the 21-year-old Nigeria international a new £20,000-a-week long-term deal.
But he has told them he wants to move and Starsport understands he is keen to seal a switch to Chelsea.
Wigan want £10m for a player they bought from Crystal Palace for just £2.5m in 2010.
Whelan said: “Chelsea would need to get realistic before we would even listen to them. The offer Chelsea have made is no good. It’s way too low. It’s rubbish. They made a bid and we turned it down flat.
“Roberto Martinez has brought this player on and he needs at least another year with Roberto to become a top player.
“We have offered him a new contract but it seems the agent, more than the player, wants to move him on. At least that’s the impression we are getting.”
