We never really expected the win. Ok we took a bit of a hammering. But we don't expect Blackburn or Bolton to beat Spurs and we still need to beat Stoke.
Perhaps the hammering will mean that we fix up before the next game. Plus hopefully we'll have Tarrabt and Diakite back which will make a big difference to us.

I'm not SO sure we expected a loss today. It was likely. But it was also very possible to have sneaked a win against a tired/focusing elsewhere Chelsea.
The "Norm" is that home advantage doesn't mean quite so much in Derby games

We are still out of the relegation zone so there is still hope.

Pray that Bolton lose their next couple of games 3-0

Yes and for Spurs to win 4 or 5-0 now as well. Great start from Spurs, they look very dangerous. Cutting through Blackburn's defence quite easily.

should beat stoke cos they are on holiday already and our home form is great. but i would bet my rent money we will get the exact same sort of performance and result against city on the alst day. so is 3 points and another 5 or 6 goals against in the last game going to be good enough?not looking that way im very sad to say.

We were always expected to lose this fixture until the last week or so to be honest so no, nothing's really changed in that respect. Yes, the goal difference is now more of a concern but, to be fair, it's only an issue with regards to Wigan at the moment and I think they're going to be safe anyway so it isn't really going to affect anything.
Our best hope was always to win our home games and pray for a bit of luck away from home. Given our form a couple of months ago, we should be below Wolves now. But we're not, we're not even in the relegation zone.

I don't think that'll happen at Man City. Todays result will ensure the players and management get their acts together.

Maybe if we could change it back to just two teams going down....

More like one team going down then we will be sure to stay up!! Nothing much has changed table wise & hopefully Spurs will bury Blackburn & then Bolton but the real point should be the performance against Chelski which was unforgivable!!!

Good points well made. Hopefully Spurs do the business today and more important vs Bolton on wed . We beat Stoke and hope Bolton lose or draw vs WBA. Bolton lose or draw to Stoke last game and we are safe!

city are even better than them lot today. they will go through us en masse. im a 100% certain in my mind it will be another massive loss in the style of fulham and chelsea. it will be their swansong no matter what happens in the title race. and they will put in a exhibition performance against our players who really are not good enough for this league.

I think we should worry about City after/if we beat Stoke.
There's just not that much cause for confidence about that win over Stoke.
If we get it, then we live in hope...
Depends how much harm (or good) today's result will have the team

Wasn't expecting anything until all the 'resting players' comments I read in other threads. Before we play Stoke, there's a match on wednesday we need another Spurs win from.

What surprises me is the sudden realisation by some fans that we may go down. I'ts not just the realisation but the inconsistency of that realisation. Which I have to admit has made me smile. One minute we're gutless and down. Then we beat Liverpool and we're great and staying up. Lose to Sunderland. Gutless and down. Beat Arsenal. Swansea and Spurs. Great. Lose to West Brom and Chelsea Gutless.
I have said it before that since the Wolves game that we had relegation written all over us. Nothing and I mean nothing that I have seen has changed that. I was expecting us to get a hammering. However I must admit. I thought it would come against Arsenal or Man Utd and not against that lot. The recent wins we've had have been more a surprise to me but the defeats in between have been expected. We've been poor most of the season and a few wins against the top sides doesn't change that. Beating some of the top sides isn't what keeps you up. It's beating the teams around and about you. If we had only picked up a couple of draws in those matches that could have been enough. For all those expecting a win against Stoke. They don't play like the teams we beat. They play more like the teams we lose to. So Don't go counting those 3 points yet.
So we are still in a situation of hoping other teams get results for us. Which is why I ask, has anything really changed?

I'd say our goal difference really changed. Other than that we're still up to our necks in it as we have been for weeks.
