Derry appeal dismissed

Tuesday, 10 April, 2012

QPR midfielder to serve one match suspension.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Shaun Derry will serve a one match suspension with immediate effect after his claim of wrongful dismissal was rejected by a Regulatory Commission today [Tuesday 10 April].

The one good thing: It's for one matches not three.. And they didn't add an extra game.
So be grateful for very small mercies.

And to be honest for home game against Swansea, if we're going to do without Derry...And Barton steps back in for him

Honestly Bushman, you can imagine the stick I get in my local every game virtually and yet to a man they were in disbelief at the red card never mind any foul or how far off side the little cheat was and that was just the cockney reds in the pub!!

It utterly beggars belief.

But as already pointed out, who expected anything else from this group of anonymous nobodies on the FA gravy train.

3 match bans are for violent conduct and the like. 1 is the norm.

One tiny bit of sunshine from the clouds then. As pointed out hopefully the captain will turn up and play tomorrow night, fingers crossed.

The referee was so obviously wrong; but the FA would never establish a precident that a card would be overturned due to a referee's error, otherwise there would just be a string of court cases going on into the next season.
Believe me I was so peed off when I saw it I wouldn't have blamed the team if they had all walked off. Everyone could see there was cheating and poor decisions all contributing to a major balls up. But a little common sense here..

If they don't feel able to overturn such a dreadful decision and obvious miscarriage as this one, I venture to suggest that there is no point in any club ever again lodging an appeal.

Gramps, and everyone, the appeal system is not about the rights and wrongs of the on field decisions.
I hope in the next century or so the FA will establish a system where player who are subsequently adjudged to have dived getting lengthy bans.

I've been saying that for years.

We're lucky they didn't extend it.

It kind of makes me wish that Derry had fouled Young by kicking him in the face. At least it would have been worth it then.

No passengers, we need to win tomorrow night.

Can you imagine Shaun Wright-Phillips giving the ball way against Swansea, you want me to tell me how that ends ?

Come on mate, be serious.
