Hitchcock got a hatrick! QPR Official Site HITCHCOCK HITS HAT-TRICK Posted on: Fri 06 Apr 2012 New signing Tom Hitchcock bagged a hat-trick, as QPR's young-guns got off to a flying start in the Bellinzona Under-19 Tournament. Hitchcock's treble and another from Frankie Sutherland helped Steve Gallen's side to a notable 4-0 rout of Spartak Moscow in Switzerland. The R's face Boca Juniors in their next Group B game today (Friday 6th April), before locking horns with FC Basle tomorrow. The semi-finals and final will be held on Sunday and Monday respectively. www.qpr.co.uk/page/YouthReports/0,,10373~2725661,00.html

This was on the U-18 section on the Official Site I guess my "error" in not looking every day at every part of the Official Site QPR Official Site YOUTH ON TOUR Posted on: Thu 05 Apr 2012 QPR's Youth Team have this week travelled out to Switzerland to take part in the prestigious Bellinzona Under 19 Tournament. The contest involves eight teams in two groups of four. After a Round-Robin format, the top two sides from each group progress to the semi-finals stage. Each match lasts 80 minutes. Rangers have been placed in Group B with FC Basle (Switzerland), Boca Juniors (Argentina) and Spartak Moscow (Russia). Group A consists of Corinthians (Brazil), Nordsjaelland (Denmark), Team Ticino (Switzerland) and Japan. Head of Youth Development Steve Gallen told http://www.qpr.co.uk: "This will be a fantastic test for us. We are talking about playing against some of the best teams' Under-19 sides in the world. "This is all about gaining experience for the players. "The squad we have taken out is a mixture of the Youth Team and some of our younger pros such as Michael Doughty, Michael Harriman, Mo Shariff and Tom Hitchcock. "Is the standard going to be a step above us? Yes, in all honesty it is. But if we lose, we lose. This is about developing our boys. "This tournament will certainly help them do that." Fixtures: Thursday 5th April - Spartak Moscow Friday 6th April - Boca Juniors Saturday 7th April - FC Basle Sunday 8th April - Semi-Finals Monday 9th April - Final www.qpr.co.uk/page/YouthReports/0,,10373~2724365,00.html

QPR Official Site YOUTH'S SWISS SUCCESS Posted on: Wed 11 Apr 2012 Steve Gallen was left with a feeling of pride following the youth team's efforts in the prestigious Bellinzona Under-19 Tournament in Switzerland. Rangers started the competition in some style, beating Russian side Spartak Moscow 4-0 on Thursday before losing 2-1 to Boca Juniors on Friday. Michael Doughty had cancelled out the Argentinian side's opener but the young R's conceded with 15 minutes to go and were unable to get back on level terms despite giving another excellent account of themselves. QPR's final group match was against FC Basle on Saturday, which finished goalless. Boca Juniors and FC Basle progressed into the semi-finals and played each other in the Final, with the Argentinian side scoring late to win 1-0. Tom Hitchcock - who recently penned a one-year deal with the R's - was the tournament's top scorer courtesy of a hat-trick in the opening game. Head of Youth Development Gallen told ww.qpr.co.uk: "I am very proud of the players, they were excellent. "We were in a very difficult group and that was proved by the fact two of them contested the Final. "We gave both finalists a difficult test and all our players will benefit from the experience of playing in a tournament such as this. "We earned a lot of praise from people at the tournament with our discipline and quality on the pitch, and our behaviour and attitude off it. "The coaches of our opponents were very complimentary towards us which means a lot. "I'm pleased our Club is playing and competing at this level." www.qpr.co.uk/page/YouthReports/0,,10373~2730100,00.html
