Where will this end?Can only help our cause a little. Samba remains in limbo at Blackburn Published 22:30 23/02/12 By David Anderson Blackburn boss Steve Kean has failed in his latest bid to bring rebel Chris Samba in from the cold. Kean had hoped to have Samba involved again for Saturday's trip to Manchester City, and the wantaway defender did take part in a training session involving the first team on Monday. But Samba did not train on Tuesday, even though he was at Rovers' Brockhall HQ, and did not play in the reserves' draw at Bolton that night. The DR Congo international last played for Blackburn in the 2-1 home defeat to Stoke on January 2, and now Kean will have to postpone his comeback yet again. Samba, who is woefully short of match fitness, warned the club when they blocked his move away last month that he would be unable to give his all for them. The 27-year-old has been called up by his country for a match against Uganda next week, but it is thought he is unlikely to go. www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackburn-Plans-to-bring-Chris-Samba-back-to-first-team-against-Manchester-City-have-failed-article869335.html

Might be off to Russia, £12 mill bid. So when does the Russian window close? I thought Russia was part of UEFA? So why are they allowed to to have a longer widow than the rest of us? If clubs cant buy a player then surely they shouldn't be allowed to sell a either. God I hate the whole window thing.....

If clubs cant buy a player then surely they shouldn't be allowed to sell a either. God I hate the whole window thing..... They don't have a longer window I don't think, but their regular season doesn't work the same way as ours. They are on an extended winter break at the moment (to avoid postponements from the snow there) so my understanding is that bids can be tabled but not necessarily enacted. So if a Russian club made a "bid" now, Samba wouldn't leave til the end of the English season. More often than not though they aren't official bids rather "understandings" - deals that are negotiated, personal terms sorted during the season, then they go through properly at the end of the season. It's pretty common on the continent. For example, Shiqari from FC Basel has been "signed" to play in the Bundesliga, but he'll be at Basel til the end of the year and start a new contract at the new club soon as the season ends.

That isn't how I see it. I am sure the German window is pretty similar to ours, ie it closes soon after ours so they might have signed a player, but allowed him to stay at his club until the end of the season. I still fail to see why EUFA allows this when we are tied into our window.

Samba goes and Wolves didnt get a Manager , two little that may go in our favour although we only need to worry about QPR. Samba completes move to Russians Published 20:34 24/02/12 By MirrorFootball Blackburn have confirmed defender Christopher Samba has completed his move to Anzhi Makhachkala for an undisclosed fee. The transfer window in Russia did not close until today and the Russian side, who recently appointed Guus Hiddink as their coach, have taken advantage to add Samba to their growing list of stars. The 27-year-old made a transfer request in January but remained at Ewood Park after the winter window closed when a possible move to QPR or Tottenham failed to materialise. Anzhi have made a number of notable signings of late, funded by billionaire owner Suleyman Kerimov. Their squad already boasts Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o, Russia international Yuri Zhirkov and former Brazil defender Roberto Carlos, while they have also been linked with a number of other high-profile players. Blackburn assistant manager Eric Black has backed the rest of the Rovers squad to cope without the towering defensive presence of Samba, starting tomorrow evening at Manchester City. The Scot said: "He hasn't played for a few weeks and our performances have been exceptional. "Obviously there was a blip at Arsenal, but again, you look at the performances against Newcastle, Fulham and QPR and the guys that have been in there have done exceptionally well." www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Blackburn-Chris-Samba-completes-move-to-Anzhi-Makhachkala-of-Russia-undisclosed-fee-article869979.html
