Is there anyone (realistic) that people would prefer to Hughes?

(Not whether Warnock should have been axed. But now that he is...)

anyone whos out of work and comes to rangers when asked isnt really any good is he?

Think of how many jobs there has actually been available since he left Foolham. Sunderland, Aston Villa and Chelsea. That's it.

and he wasnt good enough for any of them. if hes good enough for us, hes not good enough.
ala barton etc, only here cos no-one else wanted him.
sorry to be blunt but its the truth.
no top class manager or player would come to sheperds bush, we arent big enough.
the only way we would ever get a top manager is if we took a chance on one from a lower club doing good and then who proved to be the bollocks like lambert at norwich for instance.

I wouldn't mind David Moyes
Always seems to do well without signing very many players
Are we a bigger club than Everton though?

It's pretty obvious that Hughes isn't good enough for Chelsea but I think he is good enough for Aston Villa and Sunderland. SAFC went with O'Neill because he is a Sunderland fan and there is no way McLeish is better than Hughes.

i like you but sometimes you tell yourself stuff and believe it, even though its nowhere near the truth.
if he was better than mcleish he would be in the villa job.
when we were all saying tonys interview on talksport meant warnocks out, you said no way we are all reading too much into it.
oh and how many points did you say we will get over the last few games a while back, loads wasnt it?
sometimes we are all wrong.

I hope Fernandes knows what he's doing. Because things have the potential to turn pretty ugly, pretty quick.

So you're telling me Alex McLeish is a better manager than Hughes?? Not a chance.

He knows what he's he's doing, that's why he's got Beard not Paladini.

What he's doing is protecting his business by listening to the business people around him.

We're simply concerned for the club we support. ;)

Exactly, no Villa fans wanted him and still don't want him. He has a fantastic squad of players at Villa and is majorly under performing.

Spot on. In Fernandes we trust! He did the right thing even though its painful and emotional, thats life and business sadly. Neil will be OK and no-one can ever take away what he did for us. On to the future, Hughes I would like out of the names being banded about. He would have greater potential to bring in some big names than NW. Will Macheda stay now or go back to man utd? Will Hughes give adel a chance?? Who knows. I reckon our chances of getting in samba and hoilett are much greater now, I think too that hughes is more likely to look at someone like rhodes than say johnson or yakubu. West ham have put a bid in for rhodes so we need to act FAST!

Um...no....not really.

He won Birmingham's first major trophy and won exactly the same number of trophies at Rangers as O'Neill did at Celtic in the same period.

Villa fans didn't want him due to his Birmingham connections and negative football, not just because he took Brum down. Villa have a weak squad (aside Bent) and he's doing ok with what he has available imo.

Must be getting old because I'm struggling at times to realise who is being serious and who isn't.

There are so many factors that are involved in football that makes it impossible to ever know why manager A was or wasn't appointed by club B.

O'Neill is a Sunderland fan so when Bruce went he was always going to be the man they targetted for the job. As for Hughes not being appointed to the Villa post could have something to do with him having only just left Fulham - nobody can know for sure whether there were any stipulations in his departure saying that he couldn't apply for another job for an agree period of time.

Hughes is by far the outstanding candidate and if nobody has got him and we do then that's great for us.
