Sounds like insider knowledge, but may just be wishful thinking.

Time will tell..............

Whatever, I hope the announcement will be VERY soon. The longer the delay, the less chance of a decent signing or two by next Sunday.

I did find reading Iain dowies comments on all this interesting...he's a little suspicious something happened behind the scenes...Phil beard saying we'd have some funds for 1 or 2 signings, nw saying we need 5 signings to stay up...obviously not seeing eye to eye there and I'm a little worried a potential new manager will be put off I'd they're not given enough funds, especially now faurlin is out for the season!!! With this squad we don't need mark Hughes we need Paul Daniels!!

MARK HUGHES - Can some one tell me, as i really dont know, being honest, what has Mark Hughes achieved as a manager to be so wanted by some of my Rangers chums..? Is it just a high profile name that is getting people going? and if he was so good/wanted why have the Welsh national team not snapped him up..?

I don't particularly want Hughes. But there's no one I particularly want. And he seems a far better choice than the other hot one, Zola (with WILKINS as his #2!)...Given Hughes' ambitions, if Fernandes is serious, he'll have to offer up more than one or two signings

Jack Daniels has done enough already. :o allegedly ;)

I think he'll be announced today, great news as I don't like him! ::)

If there wasn't someone waiting in the wings Colin would still be there in my opinion. Hughes was at the last two home games apparently.

I think we should be looking for an interim coach to see us up at the seasons end and then pas it on to a manager for the long run.

In this instance only one name comes to mind, Guus Hiddink...........!!!!!!!!

john gregory will do a worse job than warnock, and bet everything i own on that.
no rush for a manager, we should let tony manage us till feb and then get someone in. *

I'm not a Hughes fan TBH. Can't we talk Gordon Jago into coming home? He started that brilliant side of the mid 70's.

Apparently one of the big betting firms have suspended betting on next QPR manager.

Yesterday, about 5pm, betting was suspended on Warnock going and on Hughes being the new manager.

hi birchamblues hughes took charge of the welsh squad a few yrs ago and almost led them to qualification to world cup/euro,s cannot remember which but they beat italy among others and they produced the best welsh performances in years.

He gets the best out of his players as well as a big draw to quality players.
i believe our owners are very astute or else would not of got where they are in business and i believe this is very exciting times for us indeed.

Blackburn left Blackburn for Man City which is very understandable. He left Fulham I thought because he had a huge bust up with their owner over transfers??

wonder why sunderland didnt go for him and ended up wiuth that mug o'neil.
suprised he is taking the job witht he mighty rangers when he was the shoo in as next united manager cos hes so good.
oh and ive got nothing against hughes, but i cant see how he is any better than warnock, i really cant, if he was he wouldnt be out of work.
warnock to ipswich or leeds is a dead cert, i wish him all the best.

To put it bluntly, Hughes has had several successful seasons in the Prem, Warnock hasn't. Hughes has better contacts and can attract better players.

Maybe he hasn't wanted to return to management until now. Also there hasn't really been that many jobs available. O'Neill was always going to be the Sunderland manager as he is a fan of the club.
