Non story www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2566843,00.html? Neil Warnock is hoping to get his transfer business done 'as quickly as possible,' as rumours continue to circulate about who he is hoping to bring to the Club in the January window. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, the R's gaffer revealed he is hoping to tie up his deals by the time QPR travel to Newcastle United in ten days time. "We're working very hard behind the scenes - and we want players in before Newcastle," he said. "We've got options in a number of positions - but they're never over the line until the ink has dried on the contract. Article continues Advertisement "We've got so many targets, but I won't talk about specific players. "We need experience in certain positions and we also need goals from all departments. "I've had a lot of meetings over the last few days, but there's nothing more to announce at the moment." He added: "I think it's important to get our business done as quickly as possible. "Ideally we'd have liked to have done it all in August, but the circumstances didn't allow it back then. "I don't want it to all rest on the last day again, like it did in the summer window."

Well we all want some signings in quick please...before mk dons would be nice so they have a game together before the next league match! As I just said in my post Neil, stop moaning about the farsical FA and bartons red and get on the blower....we cant let other clubs take the initiatives, i think we'll lose onuoha to wolves for one i still think bridge is worth a shot especially on loan, he'd fit right in for traore.

i don't know, but would guess that its players agents who create the hold ups, they will push for the best deal would'nt they?
QPR offer x amount, and the to-ing and throwing begins between clubs and agents, before you know it it's the last day of transfer window!

Probably right there...im just impatient at the best of times and seeing NW go on about barton is just depressing now like he's drawing attention away from our lack of signings. All we can hope is we stay up and dirty norwich sink like a lead balloon.

What do you mean 'lack of signings'?? The window has only been open 5 days and we have 1 new player already. It's not easy to sign players in the January window and it certainly isn't something that happens quickly either. We will probably have 2 or 3 more by the Newcastle match.

I don't buy that sorry. he has talked for MONTHS now about needing signings, just because the window is shut doesnt mean he cant be choosing and even talking to players as far as I'm aware? Pretty sure deals can even be done that then go through as soon as the window opens. Theres no way he'd have left It till the window opened before even thinking about it. It's starting to make me think the board are indeed giving up for the season which Is really sad if so. We're not in the bottom 3 and it could stay that way if we buy in some talent fast. Newcastle game Is a week away It'd be nice to get some in with a few days to spare so they could at least learn a few names and do some training!

I can't even get my head around how many suppositions, straw men, and groundless statements are made in that post to come up with a coherent counter-point.

I can't believe fans are getting pissed off because we have only signed 1 player 5 days into the transfer window.

Some on this board admire Lambert for his work with Norwich and some dont. This is his take on the transfer window.
What's been said? Paul Lambert: "There are one or two areas I think you would look to strengthen, there is no doubt about that, but as I said sometimes it is a lot easier to say that than to go and get them in." SSN
I would imagine the same applies to our NW-even more so in the last window when he only had 8 days.
