And I imagine at least one or two from this board, might have been at the game December 16, 1961: Brentford 1 QPR 4 (Gerry Francis' Father scoring Brentford's goal) Brentford Official Site 1961 Brentford were thrashed by Queens Park Rangers at Griffin Park by 4 goals to 1. George Francis scored the Bees goal much to the disappointment of 11771 that had attended that day." (11 Years ago today, Martin Rowlands scored for Brentford!) www.brentfordfc.co.uk/page/LatestNews/0,,10421~2546388,00.html [QPR also won their home game vs Brentford that season 3-0)

I was there. Great Win but I was also there at Brentfords last home game of the season against Grimsby Town when they needed to win to keep R's promotion hopes alive Approx 15000 there that night nearly half Rangers fans but the Bees were "pants" and lost 2-0. Anyone interested I wrote an article of that night. Go to independent R's website www.indyrs.co.uk. Homepage archive section July 7th 2008...heading Why Thousands of R's Fans were at Griffin Park supporting Brentford

PS..Not sure about the ACTUAL crowd figure for Brentford v Grimsby but I have it down in my own personal QPR archives as 14,000. From experience and memory it was certainly more than the 11,771 for Brentford v QPR..The ground seemed "packed out" to me. Unless of course I have got completely fuddled over the last 51 years
