what a silly post, if alex dont want to stay in england then thats his choice, not ours get real he aint a robot that does what he is told, give Hughes a chance for gawd sake, and your always the one moaning about everyone else being negative. Not being the original poster, and I could be wrong, but I think we need a tongue firmly in cheek emoticon. Generally speaking, the more out there a comment, the less likely it is meant.

Is anyone else worried we might not actually sign anyone (apart from Macheda on loan) ? Don't need a last minute nail biter like last time, fun though it was under different circumstances...

Certainly looking that way, not only does every bid we make seem to take ages to get anywhere, so far they've all been rejected one way or another. So much for definitely getting players in for Newcastle game (bar a miracle today). Looks like we'll be going in to that game with our weakest squad so far, we could be bottom by the end of Sunday. and out the cup Tuesday ;D Get on the blower Hughes!!

Everyone fans seem more than happy to take our money! Pienaar was a woeful player until he had 1 good spell, he could be a big flop though. Cahill was great, hut alas not any more, so of course its time for a move to qpr Could be a great couple of signings though if they play as well as they can...same with Santa cruz really.

Cahill still a very good player in my eye , would jump of the chance to have him at LR , a clever player !

Would be quite happy with both Pienaar and Cahill.
The only positive I can take from the whole Alex situation is that the article is from the Mirror, so may not be true.

Even SSN have got bored with us now, we barely getting a mention today...I have no idea whats going on behind the scenes, but it all seems very quiet right now! So dissapointed we didn't manage to get anyone in before newcastle, the whole "1 match doesnt make a season" doesnt make me feel any better, we need every single point we can scrape badly and are playing a newcastle team with their 2 best players out...we had a good chance if only we could have brought a couple of decent names in like we were told we would. It frightens me what our midfield and defence is going to look like on sunday as things stand

Agree with Rory here.
Even SSN has said its been quiet compared to last season. It usually takes 1 big move to get everyone else going. A bit like the office party, really. Someones got to get up and start dancing first. Once they do everyone else follows very quickly.

SSN Breaking News - QPR make bid for Spurs midfielder Steven Peinaar. Great signing if it comes off. Also a new name for the list. www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/229962/Sulley-Muntari-to-join-QPR-on-loan/?SULLEY MUNTARI TO JOIN QPR ON LOAN ABOVE: Sulley Muntari could join QPR on loan 13th January 2012 FORMER Portsmouth and Sunderland midfielder Sulley Muntari could join QPR on loan until the end of the season. The Ghana midfielder, whose contract with Inter Milan expires at the end of the season, is said to have agreed to join rival club AC Milan in the summer. The news has infuriated Inter who have decided to send Muntari out on loan until the end of the summer before losing him for free in the summer. The midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Inter Milan and has hardly featured this season. QPR manager Mark Hughes is desperate to sign add some depth to his squad before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month. Chelsea defender Alex has meanwhile snubbed QPR and told Chelsea he does not want to join the relegation strugglers. The Blues have yet to accept a firm offer from Hughes’ side who are willing to pay £3m for the Brazilian. But sources close to the central defender say he has no intention of swapping Chelsea for QPR and would prefer to join up with his former manager Carlo Ancelotti at PSG or head back to his own country.

All this chat about players makes me laugh, especially some of the names mentioned on this thread. Cahill and peinaar please, over the hill and over rated. Truth is no one lets any decent players go in Jan, unless they are struggling and need the cash or contracts up in the summer.
Whats the big rush? our season doesn't start until the Wigan game.

So who in our squad is better than Cahill and Peinaar?? Taarabt is technically but doesn't show it. SWP probably isn't. Faurlin is but that's about it. Pienaar would be allowed to leave because he is another one of those players that Harry signed only for them to rot on the bench for a season or two.

Next week isn't soon enough, losing to newcastle on sunday was avoidable if we'd managed to be quyicker, we had hughes, warnock and TF all [promising we'd have up to 3 players in before sunday, and we've had none. The trails are all going cold too, I'd be suprised if anyones in before the end of jan at this rate! Call me impatient but we've been told so many times players would be in before sunday and time is running out!!

Yes I am calling you impatient. We will get players in but it takes time. Agents and clubs will hold out until the last minute to get the most money out of desperate clubs like us. That's how the January transfer window works.

They wouldn't be a stop gap though they'd be a replacement for Faurlin. Otherwise it's just Barton and Derry for the rest of the season and I don't see both being available or always on form for the rest of the season. but who my dear spc? Some talk about Pienaar I do hope Pienaar. I think he is a great player who Redknapp hasn't given an extended run to. Another example of what HR would do to Samba if he signs for Spurs. I see Cahill is being mentioned by some and Ireland's name was spoken about the other day. I'm a fan of Kuyt and Dempsey but do feel we need proper central midfielders rather than attacking CM's or wide men. However maybe considering we've had a lack of goals recently we could do with more attacking players like these.
