Amit Bhatia ’01 has given Cornell University Library a gift that will provide for scholarship and socialization in John M. Olin Library. Formerly known as “Libe Café,” the gathering space and coffee shop on Olin’s first floor is now called “Amit Bhatia Libe Café.” Ten years after his graduation, Bhatia remains connected to the University, and this gift recognizes his commitment to the vital link between learning and friendship at Cornell. Bhatia grew up in England and was educated in the U.K. and India. He graduated from Cornell in 2001, with a degree in economics and investment management. He now runs Swordfish Investments and Swordfish Capital Management, and he devotes considerable time to philanthropic organizations. The Library is delighted to work with Bhatia and looks forward to stewarding his gift. www.library.cornell.edu/node/2270www.campuslife.cornell.edu/campuslife/dining/libe-cafe.cfm

Well done Amit.
He comes across as a peron who gives something back. There are plenty who take and gain without such gestures, he has done something which will help many for the coming years.

I note on one of Mac's maps that Lewis Hamilton is close to Essex, very interesting. Just remembered, I met an Indian guy on holiday who claimed to know Amit.
