Joey Barton- Medical /Deal offered is big !!
« Thread Started on Aug 24, 2011, 8:01am »

Printed on Daily Mail today that we are "stepping up" our efforts to sign Joey Barton.

Im sorry but i cant stand him, what with his temperament and violent history
he will spend more time off the pitch with red cards than on it, good footballer or not...... THUG..not fit to wear our colours (wont say badge..!)

So please Neil NOT HIM...

ironically, I am beginning to warm to him after watching his last game. If anyone can control him, it would be Neil.

Rangers Toon into Barton and prepare to bring Hammer down on Parker

I would be very happy to have him at QPR. Neil Warnock would be a perfect manager for joey barton but Barton wont move down south.

There is more chance of him moving to the like of Everton, Bolton or Blackburn nearer his to home town!

I bet many Qpr fans said they can't stand Neil Warnock before Neil join QPR

I would be very happy with Barton. He has made a huge effort in trying to atone for what he did and he is a lot calmer now. I'm not making excuses for him but when he made that very big mistake he was having drinking problems which he has now got over. He is a very talented footballer and would with him and Derry in midfield would be great for our club.

First training session, Barton is gonna headbutt Taraabt. I'll take him for rangers, if he is not allowed to tackle during training., Just make him do drills on the other side of the pitch!

Barton won't be doing anything like that, the thing you've got to know about Barton is that he defends his own team mates, one of the reasons he gets booked frequently.

Eskey forgive me but this is a daft statement. Lets forget we're talking about Barton and concentrate on the fact that our team is as good as it is because of the players in it and you should only add players that you think improve it. Therefore any new player should be better than the player in that current position, does that make them too good for the team...no just better than what's there already. You can of course argue that a player is unlikely to come to us because they're too good (or more likely too expensive) but that a question odds not a quality differential. Is Messi too good for our team, not really but he'll be too expensive and probably too ambitious.

Eusebio - You are forgiven, it was said as a joke.

He is good, class, superb - he is better than what we have (maybe except tarbs), I just can't understand why people would not want him! Hense the jest!!

He's an amazing player & a winner, fair enough if people dont like him, but no one can really stand there with a straight face & say that he hasnt made serious, serious attempts to address his "issues"

For me, this would be a genuine "Wow" moment if we signed him.

Mixed feelings over this one. No doubt he is a quality player and would improove our team. He will be tested in every game by the opponents though. He doesn't need much triggering before he snaps. If NW can have an impact on that I'm not sure, but if we can use him to stay up this year I would second the choice as well. But, I still wont like him as a person, yet.

for me, looking at the you tube footage from only LAST SEASON, he still has issues and is a bad advert for football, granted he is a good player, but its not acceptable to be like that on the pitch (forget about his troubles off it) you just don't do that sort of thing to another player and constantly..hes a hot head and we already have one of those in the team.... not a good mix

That's what matters the most, he would be OURS. And we would have to defend him as one of our own.
