I must say I'm actually quite surprised at that. He is our cover in defence. I can think of several other players we could have loaned out.

I'm sure Ramage will be very disappointed with having to go out on loan as I would of thought he would be looking forward to playing his old club Newcastle in the Premier League.

The days of Ramage at Right Back, & Damien Delaney at Left Back still give me nightmares *shudders*

Newcastle's on the 12th september, so he'd be back by then. Not that I see him being in the team. If he's just going to be loaned out all year then why resign him?

Some games under his belt will be a good thing and he'll only be a cab ride away when Hall's hamstrings snap.

And Crystal Palace official Site Palace Agree Moves For Defensive Duo Posted on: Fri 05 Aug 2011 The club are pleased to announce that they have agreed terms with Aleksandar Tunchev from Leicester City and Peter Ramage from QPR on 28 day loan deals. Centre-half Tunchev and right-back Ramage will both travel to London Road tomorrow as Palace take on Peterborough in our first npower Championship match of the season. Tunchev will take squad number 37, with Ramage taking 38. Fellow defenders Andrew Davies and Ryan McGivern who signed on loan earlier in the week will take squad numbers 35 and 36 respectively. Earlier in the week Dougie Freedman expressed his pleasure at adding to his defensive strength: "These players bring experience to an area of the team where we need cover going into an important opening set of games and I see them as important additions to the players we already have available." www.cpfc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10323~2411123,00.html

The only reason they have signed Ramage is because Clyne got badly injured in a pre-season match.

The only reason they have signed Ramage is because Clyne got badly injured in a pre-season match. uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/01082011/63/freedman-allays-clyne-fears.htmlCrystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman has played down an injury scare to defender Nathaniel Clyne. The right-back, Palace's player of the year last season, had to be substituted midway through the first half of the 3-1 friendly defeat at Bournemouth with a foot injury. But Freedman is confident Clyne will be fit in time for Saturday's opener against Peterborough. "He had a kick to his foot which is disappointing - thank goodness it's only a kick though," he said. On-trial striker Antonio Pedroza missed out on the chance to impress Freedman due to an injury. "He's got a tight hamstring and I've got to make a decision on him over the next week," added Freedman. "I've got to get him fit again, maybe get him in a game behind closed doors, and then I can make a decision on him."
