Our new poster today alluded to the Official Site Messageboard shutting down.. I thought surely not... which got me looking... But I can't find it. Maybe I'm missing something... Can someone please post the link to the Official Site Messageboard (And doesn't matter if no one uses it) (Or is this for all the boards?) This is the QPR Official Site for those who have forgotten! www.qpr.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10373,00.html

Ha. Thanks...
MESSAGEBOARD: WHERE ARE YOU?
Anyone know if this is unique to us, or is it general to all of these sites?

i can safely say that even though i have not trawled the club sites i reckon we are the only club site with this current status on the fans messageboard,
is it a requirement on the customer charter to have this?.

Hey you lot, you miserable £20 supporters, be grateful you still have a team and a club, be grateful you will be allowed puker pies and watered down beer and not be charged (yet) a quid every time you need a p.iss.

Ah yes warm beer watered down, a bit like paying for a glass of champagine and being served liebfraumilsch. Oh, and i will not be spending a dime on merchandise or any food/drink in the ground.

No...No: Official Site there is...But there WAS a messageboard (which few used, but which Lonegunmen at one time helped moderate) Yes for some years I was the Moderator on there, with Dodgy, Jim Frayling and Billy Rice. When version 2 come out in august 2007, you knew it would suck and I/we tried to get it changed to something more appealing but PTV knew best and the suggestions were dismissed. If it has been removed then good, it sucked. A couple of good users I believe hung out on there but I have visited it twice since December 2007. There was an issue with my Mod passwords no longer working - not the clubs fault should stress but PTV in their usual top performance could not/ would not fix the issue.

Why has it taken this long to take it down I wonder. I posted there a few times this week, before then I hadn't been active there for a long time. Maybe Ive just become very angry with how the club is being run and did so in the hope my comments would be seen by those high up.
I had a very bad experience there 2 or so years ago when I was a regular and made enemies with my support of the owners. I had to complain about a rogue moderator to the club who, to my horror, had published my full name and address in the profile of a duplicate account: an account he had created and for some time had been attributing to being owned by me to stir up trouble with other members on the message board. That's when I stopped posting there as the moderators were not only biased and unhelpful but freely breaking rules, members' confidentiality and data protection laws - which I highlighted to the club's official when I phoned. I had also not long before this been threatened with violence by another member on the message board (over a prank I made) which increased my concerns. The club official also informed me the message board was run by a third party company not the club who have no control over the content or who administrates it. I was very angry with this.
Up to the time all this happened, for a good year or more I had been active and overall supportive of the way the club was being run. And for this I had my posts edited (where the moderator had replaced my comments with derogatory remarks) and removed even though I didn't break rules; my username was frequently deleted and even my account banned for no reason or justification. When I complained about the moderation no one answered. This all cast aspersions on me that I was some kind of trouble maker when I was nothing of the sort. I carried on regardless because I am not thin-skinned and felt the message board needed balance as most of the members were anti-owners. It was because of my vocal support for the owners that I had been victimized, and when I found out my name and address had been published that was the final straw.

The club official also informed me the message board was run by a third party company not the club who have no control over the content or who administrates it. Just so I'm straight on this, the 'official' message board was officially nothing to do with the club who had no control over it's contents or how it was being run. Truly incredulous and pathetically amateurish on behalf of the club's media department. Pay peanuts, get monkeys. There is no duty of care at our club, only exploitive practices as they shit on the real, loyal fans from high and seemingly revel smugly in doing so. Anyone accepting new employment by this lot now can only be entirely complicit and supportive of this. The real fans, who do work at the club and were there before the present owners, well, their days are numbered in my opinion as costs are cut further behind the scenes. Rather than renew contracts, cheaper options will be sought in order to raise the profit margin. It's a slow death.

It was there about 10 days ago because I looked at it. I have asked the club via the website where it is, but don't expect an answer.

Truly incredulous and pathetically amateurish on behalf of the club's media department. Exactly, which is extremely misleading. I should have wised up to this fact over the appalling way I had been victimized and the dire non-existent moderation. But you think someone at the club must have some control but they didn't. I believed when I registered that my personal account details were safe and secure but this was not the case. I didn't know what this rogue moderator was capable of doing. He could have been passing my address to shady looking people in his local pub for all I know. The guy clearly disliked me and made it clear, what was I suppose to think. Months earlier he had sent me a sinister sounding email which read "give up son you cant win" after deleting more of my posts.

Whether a messageboard moderator agreed or disagreed with your views, it would obviously be beyond the pale for any moderator to do what you said occurred. The #1 rule of any messageboard: You obviously preserve the confidentiality of the sign ups (short of legal demands). You let views be expressed as long as they fit within the rules of the board (and the use of language is withing bounds of the rules). And if you make an edit to a post, you make clear that such an edit has been made.
(Ironically I was just reading on this other QPR board the assertion that a moderator of this other QPR board had screwed around/altered with the signature/link of a poster. But that's not the first time I've read of that occurring)

I decided in the end it wasn't worth the hassle and just wanted the matter to die. Unlike most internet message boards, even this one, there is no requirement upon registering for people to provide their real names and addresses. its not the same on the QPR website as you need to provide these details in order to use the other site's facilities where people need to use their credit card. I did not write my details on my message board profile which means moderators must have had access to all members' private details.

That would never ever have happened if I was the mod. You can thank PTV for that F*** up too. That mod broke pretty much every cardinal rule of a Mod doing what they did. I hope you never encounter that again. As I said, it would not have happened if I was still modding the Official MB. yes, I am still pissed over the whole thing even now.

Whatever people think of me I am a fan of the club and have its best interests at heart. I am always happy to discuss and debate with people whose views are different to mine thats what these boards are for. It seems this Mod (and I don't know if we're talking about the same person and I won't mention his name) is not around there anymore. I'm pleased you condemn this behaviour and its a shame for whatever reasons you did not stay on to administrate the official club's message board to sort out the problems.
