Spurs try to hijack QPR's Bothroyd bid By Jacob Murtagh Jul 6 2011 QPR will know in the next 24 hours whether they have got Jay Bothroyd against all the odds. Rangers chiefs are understood to have met with the England international and his agent at a London hotel last night and are trying to thrash out a deal that satisfies both club and player. Tottenham are also in the mix for the 28-year-old London born striker, who became a free agent after he failed to agree terms with Cardiff. Rangers earlier stalled over Bothroyd’s £50k-a-week wage demands, but are ready to bite the bullet as other targets failed to agree terms with the Premiership new boys. Why would you sign him if you've got Crouch Defoe Pavlyuchenko plus Keane & Dos Santos who can't get in the team?

I would imagine Eus that the last two on your list will be long gone from Spurs come 1/9/11

Remember a couple of months ago we were debating in quite a blase manner about whether we wanted Crouch or not lol, little did we know, how naive we were etc.

Guys, don't want to depress you but my friend who has seen most Cardiff games this season could not wait to get rid of Bothroyd..... Said he does one good thing every three or four games and then dines out on it. Apparently he's all dress up with nowhere to go (other than Loftus Road). Pity we missed the only honest hard working goal scoring centre forward in Danny Graham as at least he's a team player too.
Mark my words missing Graham was huge and I promise you it will come back to haunt us, Bothroyd, all dressed up and heading for more cash. ??

Is this a wind up aswell then , a post from Indianalondon after the twitter event.(watrb) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ok..think i'm fine posting this.
I just phoned paladini from Slovakia...which wiped out the frigging cash I had in my Skype account (hint hint if Sky wants to frigging bung me a tenner for my trouble).
He had no idea and aint happy.
And, no, I didnt ask him the specifics, just thought someone at QPR should bloody know.
Gut feeling...(and I have seen the email)..this was a "take it or leave it" thing.
And I stress "gut feeling".
In fairness, I've never met an agent I like so this doesnt make me angry at Sky..they're all ****s.

And the £2.5m buy-out clause is an absolute joke, there shouldn't be buy-out clauses in contracts in my opinion.

I was under the impression that "Agents Fees" are paid by the player, not the club. So why would it list 130,000 pounds a year for Agent

Maybe the FA will sniff this one out. Would this have been a deliberate mistake by the agent to get a better deal , or has he made himself look a right amateur ! Interesting if West Ham or someone go in just above our level?
