just done a two hour special on talksport about his playing career, was very complimentary about his years at rangers, compared our style to barcelonas, tad exaggerated perhaps but coming from him proves what a good side that 75-76 side were

Well, I never saw them, because I wasnt born, but I've heard that team described as the English version of the Ajax "Total Football" side & the great Arsenal teams of recent years; players being able to interchange positions effortlessly, unbelievably fluid style of play etc, still think the "Classic FM" played some absolutely fantastic stuff, the best I've ever seen at QPR.

And a great steal by QPR when we signed the 33 year old for chicken feed from Arsenal (who preferred to have Jeff Blockley!) Gave us a second captain on the field.
(I was sure he was going to be a great manager...As I thought re Mackay and Hollins and Wilkins and Mullery...Wrong on all counts)

He was right, did he mention that Venables took that style of play to Barcelona? Without Sexton, QPR and Venables, Barcelona would be nothing!
