Ashley Williams is heading to QPR for £1m.
Smudge1962 Paul Smith More bad news for Swansea as well. Defender Ashley Williams is heading to QPR for £1m. I'm not sure if Swansea will have a team left soon.

Honestly I would love it, but why on earth would he sign for us? He is welsh, Swansea is his club, he plays for a Premier League Club... Can't see that happening...

Sorry, but don't trust smudge. Would be a good signing I reckon but until it is confirmed I wouldn't believe anything! Might be getting more depressed with drinking more wine tonight though, or maybe getting more realistic!!!!

Could only be some sort of clause in his contract, but I'm struggling to believe it as well.
edit, you beat me Rory!

Keane , Jenas +williams QPR plot double Spurs raid Published 23:04 04/06/11 By Steve Stammers Premier League newcomers Queens Park Rangers are preparing a double swoop for Jermaine Jenas and Robbie Keane. Rangers know they will need players of proven experience on their return to the top flight – and the Tottenham duo fit the bill. It appears that both men are superfluous to Spurs . Jenas would cost around £7 million and that will boost Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp’s transfer kitty as well as easing the wage bill at White Hart Lane. Keane is more likely to move on loan while Rangers are close to landing another key recruit for next season. They are set to sign Ashley Williams from Swansea City in a £1m move. Williams, 26, has been a vital part of Swansea’s progress over the past four seasons. I may be one of the few who believe keane might not be that bad a signing. We do however need more pace up front which he would not bring so Graham would be the main signing!!

geoff, I am in that minority too I think that Keane would be a good signing. He just scored two goals for Ireland tonight. If he gets a good run of form without injuries, I think he could score quite a few goals for us, and he definitely has the premiership experience we need

Can we please have confirmation from the wireless wheelie Bin inhabitant ? After all, he and Gianni are mates - allegedly. To be fair, he's not the one who promotes all the "done and dusted" crap. And he's not the one who serves as the de facto apologist for the QPR FC Chairman.

Keane's value shot up last night, I tihnk he's a headless chicken on the pitch but he scores and we need that badly, a proven goalscorer who will chase anything.
Jenas' agent was spotted at Loftus Road at least three weeks ago.

Not convinced about Keane if honest , watched some of those games for West Ham and he was missing as big a sitter as Hulse does. maybe NW could get a better return who knows?

Williams does not sound unhappy at Swansea Wales on Line Ashley Williams keen to meet Premier League test head on * by Tim Lewis, Western Mail Jun 6 2011 ASHLEY WILLIAMS says he is ready to step up and test himself against the world’s top players as a Premier League defender next season. Having been regarded as one of the hottest prospects outside the top flight for the past two years, Williams will finally get the chance to battle the likes of Wayne Rooney and Fernando Torres after Swansea’s promotion to the top flight. The £5m-rated Wales international would almost certainly have been the subject of bids from Premier League clubs if Swansea had failed to go up, but he is now focusing on helping Brendan Rodgers’ side establish themselves in the richest league in the world. Williams is good friends with Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand and admits he is already looking forward to going head-to-head with the England defender. “To be able to say that we are Premier League players feels nice,” said the 26-year-old. “I’ve given Rio a text to say I will be seeing him soon. “I’ve given my all to get to the Premier League and I am just looking forward to it. “For most young boys they dream about playing against the top sides when they are older and we are no different. “Going up against top players at Old Trafford, Anfield, the Emirates, that’s all in store for us next year and we are looking forward to it. We can go there and show no fear again. We can enjoy ourselves.” Williams was reported to be the subject of £1m interest from fellow Premier League new boys Queens Park Rangers over the weekend. But the Swans have laughed off those stories and Williams says Swansea will follow the example set by Blackpool last year. Ian Holloway’s side won plenty of admirers with their stylish play, and hopefully will go one better by staying in Premier League for more than one season. He added: “I’ve said all along what it would mean to the city. “If you look at what it did to Blackpool, it brought people together and attracted new people there. “It put them on the map and it’s nice to be the first Welsh side in the Premier League. “The neutrals will probably say we deserve it. We know how hard we have worked. “I am not saying we have worked harder than anyone else, but we have been very brave this season. We’ve probably deserved it.” Williams was linked with Scottish giants Celtic last summer and is reportedly being tracked by several Premier League clubs. Swansea could yet face competition to hold on to the defender, who played his 141st consecutive game for the club in the play-off final win over Reading at Wembley. “All the speculation is all out of my hands,” added Williams. “I am a Premier League player now and that was always the ultimate aim. “It was a brilliant win.I didn’t think we played that well, but we got the job done and that’s all that matters.” Swansea have been granted permission to speak to Watford striker Danny Graham after the Hornets accepted a £3.5m bid for the 25-year-old marksman. It would be a record club signing and a statement of Swansea’s intent to give it a go in the Premier League. But West Brom, Queens Park Rangers, and possibly Newcastle, have not given up hope of signing Graham. The Swans – who had an original £3m bid turned down last week – now hope to thrash out personal terms with the former Middlesbrough and Carlisle striker. www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/swansea-city-fc/2011/06/06/ashley-williams-keen-to-meet-premier-league-test-head-on-91466-28826182/
