Saturday: Fans voice their feelings
QPR1st has been informed that fans are intending to meet at South Africa Road, this Saturday from noon onwards. It is understood that this is an informal gathering which is intended to be a peaceful expression of fans' disaffection regarding the ticket prices for next season and other developments within the Club.
This follows the submission by the LSA to the Directors of the Club of a letter expressing their concerns. QPR1st agree with the points made in the letter and are united with the LSA on asking the Board to meet with representatives from fans organisations.
We fully endorse the call by John Reid, the Chairman of the LSA for fans groups to present a united front and have written to him to ensure him that the LSA, for which we have the greatest respect, can rely on our support. We are keen to receive any feedback from fans on what you think should be the most appropriate course of action for us to now take. We shall also be writing to the Supporters Trusts at Newcastle and Manchester United regarding their campaigns to find out if there are any lessons to be learnt for us.

Good luck to them/us... Though how best to accomplish goals... Maybe need to hire that billboard guy with a new sign - and have him where the action is... Say at the Grand Prix event or if know at some big celeb event in London where Briatore or Ecclestone will be... Or maybe try and get a meeting with Bhatia/Saksena...Shouldnt be THAT hard to do (if Bhatia's truly still interested in buying QPR)

The problem is of cours is that if there are only 20 or 30 protestors (or even 100), that can be spun as just a handful of insignificant/dissident protestors not reflective of the QPR "community" as a whole

And the owners and probably even paladini wont be there to see them anyway. It's holiday time!

Question is: How do you best influence people who don't seem to care what fans think and don't seem to care if they get unfavourable media...and their other businesses are not really susceptible to negative media either?
I don't think you're going to get a fan boycott of QPR games...Nor a failure to sell tickets...

I see no point in a protest outside an empty stadium on a non match day with no staff even working and during the holiday season.
Wait until the first home game of the new season and protest voiceferously but peacefully from 1pm onwards and not enter the ground until 15 mins after kick off, now that would have the attention of the whole media and make the point to the flab and ecces.

Briatore's soulless ego thrives on media attention (remember him stripping to a thong at a press conference -*shudder*). So, to mock him as publicly as possible has to be the way forward, and that has to be on match days, before or after games, half time, anything to get the media's attention. Can we ask ex players, 'celeb' fans, media reporters to speak up? Can we target their businesses?
Can we somehow set up a meeting with Bhattia to examine ways forward?
As for the antiquated dwarf, his recent actions on the Bahrain race shows he really doesn't give one about public opinion, the pursuit of money is his mantra and he won't give up easily.
DONUT, DWARF AND PUPPET OUT!!!!!

Fans of all clubs up and down the country would see our plight, the extra support it would generate would certainly do us no harm at all. Whadda ya reckon, sacrifice 15 mins of the game? Im sure there are pills to stop the ol' boobies from growing, we can all chip in with costs of surgery psycotherapy etc...

Good luck with the protests and hope the organisers had the good sense to invite a tabloid photographer along to capture the event as the owners will be too busy abroad watching motor racing.

I don't think other clubs will pity us atall. When we were going through managers like no tomorrow, we were a laughing stock like we will be again in this scenario. The only way this will be resolved is through the boardroom which hopefully the Mittals will get them out!

Good luck with the protests - and although I doubt its effectiveness at least it is better than doing nothing.
As already mentioned the probeem is that they don't seemed to be too cared about public image. Flabman Crashman was caught in the middle of a scandal where he instructed a driver (son of a former champ) to crash his car (and let's not kid ourselves, it did happen) and he has brushe dit off as thoutgh nothing happaned - when it probbaly woudl ahve sunk a person with a sense of shame.
The less said about the Pet Monkey the Chelscum fan and his dealings the better, and how many more times are we going to hear public figures denounce the Former Two Bit Agent as being untruthful in public hearings as it all goes over his head?
The truth is that these guys don't give a damn about public opinion so I doubt this, or any other protest for that matter, will make a difference.
These guys are here for their back pocket and don't give a damn about the fans - and it was always like that since day 1.
This is something that is only likely to be solved at boardroom level - my fear is at what cost to the club.

I can understand why no mass protest. And obviously the choice of protesting on a Saturday at a stadium with no one there...
But Don't understand how the very people who organized it and signed on to it didn't turn up.

Organising a protest next Saturday. Need sign up sheet. Carry signs saying Paladini Out now. Expect
Wartbee to harass.
