As posted by Scott on WATRB Presumably will be on the Official Site or in your emails -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore have today (Friday 27th May 2011) clarified the following points in the wake of recent press reports regarding Queens Park Rangers Football Club. Bernie Ecclestone and the Flavio Briatore Trust (FB Trust) saved QPR from administration when they acquired the Club in 2007. When the Mittals joined them, FB Trust and Ecclestone maintained an 80% interest in the Club and provided 80% of the funding needed to run QPR. In 2009 when Briatore took a backseat at QPR, FB Trust passed a 13% shareholding in QPR to the Mittals free of charge. This took Ecclestone and the FB Trust's combined shareholding to 67% and they have continued to fund 67% of the Club's financial need, with the Mittals contributing 33%. When Ecclestone and Briatore took over at QPR, they were clear about their vision to take the Club into the Premier League within four years and this plan has now been achieved, with QPR set to grace the top-flight of English football in the 2011/12 season. Both Ecclestone and Briatore believe that Amit Bhatia's recent comments and the subsequent press coverage have been damaging to QPR and do not fairly reflect the reality of the situation. They have not received a written offer from the Mittals for their QPR shares and feel strongly that the verbal offer made to them was insultingly low. Bhatia appears to be using the press to try to force the price of any deal down, which is disrespectful to both the Club and its fans. Despite the assertions from both Bhatia and Lakshmi Mittal that they were prepared to invest heavily in QPR to allow Neil Warnock to spend money on new players ahead of the new season, a recent request for shareholder funding was rejected by Bhatia, whereas Ecclestone and FB Trust have met and will continue to meet their funding commitments to the Club. Ishan Saksena has parted company with QPR as a result of managerial changes that the Board felt were appropriate after the way in which the FA Hearing was handled. This was a decision made by the Board for the best interests of QPR. QPR's Season Ticket prices for the 2011/12 season are in line with other London-based Premier League Clubs and are reflective of the Club's newly achieved Premier League status. With over 90% of QPR Season Tickets being sold in Gold and Silver areas, the year-on-year increase in the standard price of a Season Ticket for the majority of fans is between 22%-27%, or 16%-21% when taking account of inflation and the increase in VAT. Ecclestone and Briatore believe that although price increases have been necessary, they are not unduly high and initial sales have so far been encouraging, with four times as many tickets being sold in the first 48 hours when compared with last season. In fact, QPR's website has spoken to a number of fans who have already renewed their tickets. "My ticket has gone up in price, but - personally - I think it represents good value for money." "The owners have put their money in and as a supporter of the Club, I've done the same, because it's my team." "The buzz of coming along to Loftus Road on a matchday is special. The whole experience is great." As both Ecclestone and Briatore have stated in recent days, Neil Warnock's post as Manager remains secure and Neil has the full support of the Board. Discussions have already taken place between Neil and the Board, in which Neil outlined his thoughts on player acquisitions ahead of the new Premier League season and was assured that he will be able to keep his best players for QPR's return to the Premier League. www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102226

Really embarrassing, not to mention insulting to peoples intelligence
Now even I'm not stupid enough to believe that Bhatia resigned over ticket prices, but as for even contemplating believing anything that comes out of Briatore or Paladini's mouth ? Now that really is taking the p!ss lol
Those two shouldnt be allowed withing a hundred miles of an English Football Club, English FA, hang your heads in shame you hypocritical cowards, its mugs like us that have to put up with this & we havent got a choice, BECAUSE ITS OUR CLUB.

Breathtaking arrogance and, again, a total lack of respect for the fanbase.
These two, and the Puppet, cannot be allowed to continue their gross mismanagement and every fan should continue their protest until we have forced them from our club.

Sounds like they are trying to use Ishan Saksena as a scapegoat for the FA hearing.
Disgusting.

The statement's now been picked up by the various news accounts....
Just on the very limited: To see Saksena "linked" to the FA matter...and to see zero mention of QPR FC Chairman Gianni Paladini who was up to his neck in it...speaks volumes...

I am actually in shock now.......
How the hell can they come out with that total pile of ****?
"My ticket has gone up in price, but - personally - I think it represents good value for money."
"The owners have put their money in and as a supporter of the Club, I've done the same, because it's my team."
"The buzz of coming along to Loftus Road on a matchday is special. The whole experience is great."
Well, I guess we can all guess who those quotes are from....
And don't even get me started on :
As both Ecclestone and Briatore have stated in recent days, Neil Warnock's post as Manager remains secure and Neil has the full support of the Board. Discussions have already taken place between Neil and the Board, in which Neil outlined his thoughts on player acquisitions ahead of the new Premier League season and was assured that he will be able to keep his best players for QPR's return to the Premier League.
So NW will be able to keep his players from last season, thanks guys!!!! Can't help noticing no mention of a budget for actually buying players though....
God, sometimes I hate being an R......

Do me a favour! Bernie and Flavio slam Bhatia's 'insulting' offer for QPRBy Sportsmail Reporter Last updated at 5:05 PM on 27th May 2011 Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore have hit out at Amit Bhatia's 'insultingly low' offer to buy QPR outright. Bhatia, the son-in-law of Rangers' billionaire co-owner Lakshmi Mittal, resigned as the club's vice-chairman on Wednesday after revealing attempts to buy out Ecclestone and Briatore's 67% shareholding at Loftus Road had failed. Staying: Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone brushed off Amit Bhatia's 'insulting' offer for QPR Bhatia also condemned the Formula One tycoons for removing QPR Holdings chairman Ishan Saksena from his position and for their 40% hike in ticket prices for next season. But while the boardroom squabbling threatens to overshadow Rangers' promotion back to the Barclays Premier League, Ecclestone and Briatore have come out fighting. In a joint statement, they said: 'Both Ecclestone and Briatore believe that Amit Bhatia's recent comments and the subsequent press coverage have been damaging to QPR and do not fairly reflect the reality of the situation. Going up: Neil Warnock and his QPR team celebrate winning the Championship 'They have not received a written offer from the Mittals for their QPR shares and feel strongly that the verbal offer made to them was insultingly low. 'Bhatia appears to be using the press to try to force the price of any deal down, which is disrespectful to both the club and its fans.' The departures of Bhatia and Saksena, two of Neil Warnock's staunchest allies on the board, have once again cast doubt on his future as manager. Gone: Amit Bhatia resigned from his position as vice chairman at Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday But Ecclestone and Briatore have reiterated Warnock will be in charge when the Premier League season kicks off in August. The statement continued: 'As both Ecclestone and Briatore have stated in recent days, Neil Warnock's post as manager remains secure and Neil has the full support of the board. 'Discussions have already taken place between Neil and the board, in which Neil outlined his thoughts on player acquisitions ahead of the new Premier League season and was assured that he will be able to keep his best players for QPR's return to the Premier League.' Lets face it 100 million is less than 0.06 percent of what Mr Mittal is worth. Its pin money when you own 17.5,000,000,000 billion ! Or in Laymans terms. Or for someone that just won a £1,000,000( million) pounds on the lotto it would be equal to £571.00 you would spend that on a meal ! If he really wants us he could pay more than 100 million !

Please correct me if I am wrong, but was it not reported that Ecclestone bought Briatoe's shares.
Unless the share purchase was a lie or he has repurchased the shares why is Briatore referred to as an owner of Queens Park Rangers & why did he have any say in the running of the club?
Season tickets have increased by 22-27%.
Well, I paid approx. £570 for Gold last season after the 5% reduction, therefore we are being asked to pay a 33% markup. This is on top of previous increases. When they bought the club ST'S for the Upper Loft were below £500 (can't remember the actual figure) so if this was £499 this would be a 52% markup.
The only possible comparable increases of this amount would be on oil, petrol & tobacco & I feel sure sure that inflation is a lot lower than this figure.
Lastly, the initial sale of ST's were probably before Bhatia's resignation became public. How many tickets have been sold since?

Yes, was announce. that Imp bought out Donuts shares. That turned out to be another prevarication
most likeley the press making the news. Here we see that he never went anywhere and his Trust
and Imps shares are tied together, so co-owners like conjoined twins.

You certainly wouldnt think we are still in a recession with people on flat time or still on reduced wages from having there monies cut from a year or two ago. On top of everyones cost of living generally going up more than they are getting annual increases another big kick in the teeth for the loyal football fan !

Flav tho is the mouthpiece, like he rehired the writer that blew Sousa up in front of fans. This piece
blasts those f in g cheap Mittals, and the "late scum Saksena who fd us with the FA?!.
We say in Yiddish, gunssa meshugannah. No wonder the Mittal family want to get away from his
firing lines. Lesson. Learn Flavs business ethic before getting involved. There arent too many
survviving his ambition. But he can become his own worst enemy also. Be very careful Colin.

This QPR fan is staying in a distance observing state, as I did last year. I picked them for 11th since the
History, long standing is for big letdowns So what I see is what I get. Now one will say, how can you
be so unappreciative. We are in the Prem. The top league, new skilled players coming in. playing the creme de la creme of football.
So I say this. The ghastly end to the season where the inner workings of this club are exposed to the
world, fills me with shame. The fact that in a millisecond, the old guard grows another head and con
veniently gets the scapegoat machine going and protecting his cronies even though the FA has badly
censured and fined him is unconscionable. He is still wheeling and dealing which means in essence
we have little use for rulemakers, especially when they intefere with our business.
Can I expect this craven beginning to amount to a successful season. Frankly, you cant conceive of
any kind of success when the goal is to "do another Lazio" by hook or by crook. But get away with
it. We were promoted by hook and by crook as the saying goes.
I am prepared for more bombshells. I will say this, I have gone through and experience all our premiership runs and stays. Some terribly short, some quite respectable and then the 13 year run. Have seen QPR v Manuc, Vila, white Hart, Arse, all of them We did quite well and hard to beat at home. But nothing compares to this current morass.

I apologise for this posting surge. I have been bereft of a dsl for 2 weeks as the server tried deperately to make me buy u-verse which is their new money maker, while I held out for my simple service. Well they
punished me by making me wait two weeks. F them. the Oligarchs have covered the world with their scandalous greed and its not only QPR fans who see their savings being sucked out.
But back to the Joy of Premiership. Believe me i am not a Jeremiah, nor a wet blanket. Many many fans are in seventh heaven and will find the money somehow for the season.
From my experience, a small team like QPR cant expect that this will be a permanent residence in football heaven.
History will prove that. I have seen QPR play Oldham, Luton, southampton.coventry, Sheffileld United and Wednesday, Notts County, Nottm Forest, Leeds, Wimbledon, I missed, Charlton, Leicester, Middlesbro Derby, Watford, WBA, Wolves, at least the last time around.
the fate of the smaller
teams is lower divisions, not the Champions League.
I know one thing, Its got to get better and that it gets easier to be a QPR fan.
Le commedia e finito.

These are just a few facts I gleaned from Wikipedia, about the life of Flavio Briatore. 1. Was a dunce at school. 2.Owned restaurant and went bankrupt. 3.Sentenced to 4years and 6months for fraud, but to avoid prison fled to the Virgin Islands. Returned to Italy due to amnesty. And it goes on and on.
Now if the Football League, is "fair dinkum" how does this man pass the test of Fit and Proper.

Pardon me, an extra point. If the FIA [Formula One] can ban him indefinitely you would think that the Football League, would follow suit.
