Queens Park Rangers fans incensed by rise in ticket prices following promotion to the Premier LeagueQPR fans have reacted angrily after learning they will be charged up to £72 to watch their team in the Premier League next season. Club owners Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal are cashing in on the club's promotion back to the top flight by hiking the prices of both match day and season tickets. The cheapest tickets will be £47 while season tickets are up by almost 40% from last term, although with four home games less in the Premier League compared to the Championship, the increase is even more in real terms. The price rises were widely predicted but have still been met with dismay by many Rangers fans ''It's an absolute disgrace and, yet again, underlines the total contempt the owners of QPR have for the fans,'' said Paul Finney of the Independent R's website. ''Flavio Briatore's dream is a 'boutique' club, which has an exclusive feel to it and is the place for wealthy people to be seen. ''Not only is that a slap in the face of QPR supporters, it is not in the long-term interests of a club that has two other Premier League clubs (Chelsea and Fulham) on its doorstep.'' www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/queens-park-rangers/8535656/Queens-Park-Rangers-fans-incensed-by-rise-in-ticket-prices-following-promotion-to-the-Premier-League.html

It's a P*** take The loyalty comes from us the fans and not the club! The ugly face of modern football, you wouldn't think there was a recession would you? Fulham leave us to shame on this issue and they're an established Premiership club!

Press Association will grasp any opportunity to dig us out and put us in the frame for all the wrong reasons.
However, this is a massive own goal by the club. Capped the season tickets to half the stadium so they caqn charge an average of sixty quid to walk up fans. I don't think getting rid of my Sky Sports subscription to have a season ticket will compensate me in any way.
Getting the right hump the more I think about this disgusting treatment!!!

Wow, the Boutique is back!
The stadium will be full next season, but there wont be many QPR fans in it.
£47 for a seat in Loftus Road ?! Dont waste your energy getting angry about that, just laugh at it.
Our "crowd" next season will make Fulhams look like Fenerbahce & Chelsea's look like Stoke City.
It will be that bad, it really will be.

Wouldn't suprise me if it was even more expensive to see the likes of Man U, Chelsea etc

Wait a minute, I heard someone on here say they'd already bought their season ticket and the increase was only 20% (which is what we expected).
So is this 40% price hike genuine or just another example of silly season in the tabloids?

The prices for new ST's and walk ups will be even more!

Dave McIntyre/Kilburn Times
QPR hit fans with huge ticket price increaseThe scale of QPR’s re-branding as a ’boutique’ club was underlined when they announced jaw-dropping price rises for next season. Rangers fans will be charged up to a whopping £72 to watch their team when the Premier League gets under way in August. Owners Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal are cashing in on the promotion to the top flight that has turned their vision of Rangers as an exclusive club for wealthy fans into a reality. The cheapest tickets will be £47, while season tickets are up by almost 40 per cent from last term – although the increase is around 67 per cent in real terms given that there are fewer home fixtures in the Premier League. Massive increases were inevitable given the owners’ intention to change the face of QPR – and the fact that only intervention by the Football League prevented them from further increasing the already sky-high prices for Championship football at Loftus Road. But confirmation of the news has still been greeted with shock and dismay by many Rangers fans. “It’s an absolute disgrace and, yet again, underlines the total contempt the owners of QPR have for the fans,” said Paul Finney of the Independent Rs website. “You have Fulham, just down the road, who have worked hard to foster local support and made no bones about doing so on QPR’s patch. “Fulham are able to do that because Rangers aren’t interested in generating that kind of support. The clientele QPR are looking to attract is totally different. “Flavio Briatore’s dream is a ’boutique’ club, which has an exclusive feel to it and is the place for wealthy people to be seen. “Not only is that a slap in the face of QPR supporters, it is not in the long-term interests of a club that has two other Premier League clubs (Chelsea and Fulham) on its doorstep.” Are you a loyal QPR fan who can’t afford the new ticket prices? What makes QPR - or any club - is its history and its roots and traditions.
So bringing in a slew of new spectators, whose only link to the club is to watch a winning team (which is questionable anyway), and be "entertained" is the antithesis of what any of us should want.
But it of course exemplifies the Briatore "Boutique" approach

Midwinter, night game, maybe on a bad run V Wigan/Blackburn/Bolton, empty away end, live on SKY...Hmmm 60 quid a ticket you say. No kids tickets in that part of the ground...

So is this 40% price hike genuine or just another example of silly season in the tabloids? That was me and I still think a 20% increase for W12 is just about fair enough considering it's viewed as corporate and the club would be silly to ignore the potential revenues of that in the Premiership. What's going on with the prices elsewhere though is as unbelievable as they are shameful. Though not surprising given our owners and their contempt for the fans. Can't wait for the next statement from Sakseena or Bhatia telling us what great fans we are and how much we mean to the club (well it's hardly going to be Bernie or Flabio ever saying that). Those prices are disgusting and represent the earth being thrown on the coffin of what was once a great club to be proud of.

what w12 posted on watrb
very good
(sorry if all ready posted)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't taken the time to read through the mass hysteria as today is my birthday and I didn't want to ruin it by getting wound up this afternoon but I have a few points to make and as Platinum Season Ticket Holder I'll try to kep my cool.
Expectations
- I now raised my expectation levels to a mid table finish, 17th is no longer acceptable.
- Following a mid table finish next season, the following I expect us to qualify for Europe
- I have the right to boo or throw abuse at my Team, Management and Board if perfomances are not satisfactory.
- I now expect Warnock to be given a warchest and our transfer record to be smashed 2 even 3 times over this summer
- I expect every transfer fee to be non-disclosed I want to see where my money is going and if a transfer fee is disclosed I want to know why.
Realism
- This has nothing to do with the size of the ground lets stop fooling ourselves, more seats equals more revenue at top dollar.
- The Indians are just as much a part of this as Ecclestone and Briatore, they are all responsible.
- We are being charge through the nose because the demand is there and will continue to be so. We have a hardcore fanbase which is being exploited. There are no comparisons to be made with us and the likes of Bolton, Wigan and Blackburn.
- The Fulham model is not our model we are completely different sorts of club with a completely different type of fan base so accept it.
I'm sitting here trying to mill through all this and the only thing I can come up with is these individuals are very good business men for a reason. They have us fans by the ******** and are squeezing the hell out of them. They know there will be others to replace us if we walk away and if it becomes a problem they'll just drop matchday ticket prices.....welcome to the Premier League.

ONE part - and just one part - of the problem: There is ZERO club-Fan genuine communication.
The club-Fan group Meets: Where are they?
The Club-Fan Forums: Not been one since the days of John Gregory - More than Four years ago
Even knowing who's in charge at the club: And there's not even a real "face" person communicating with the fans.
Leaking ITK to a fanboard is very nice. But it's absolutely no use in this circumstance.

I agree with most of what you've said but the We aren't the Fulham model accept it quote is a bit off, the Fulham model is working for them, on the pitch and off it, it's the one we should adapt, they're actually gaining a community and we're losing ours more and more and i'm not happy to accept that. As for booing the team, never believed in doing in that ever! What a fun place Loftus Road will be next year

Why do people never learn from their mistakes! Remember where we were 3 years ago:
AN OPEN LETTER FROM AMIT BHATIA Dear Supporters, - In recent days and weeks, I have had the chance to interact and speak with many of you - at home, in and around our stadium and also at our away fixtures. - Many of you have expressed excitement at the current and future prospects of the Club. Many of you feel the Club is on the right, forward moving track. Many of you have greeted us warmly and welcomed us into the QPR family. Firstly, allow me to thank you for all your support. - In much of the conversations we have had, and encouragement that you have given me, some of you have also expressed your unhappiness at the increase in ticket prices for category A matches. It is something that we have listened to intently as a Board and as shareholders - we have discussed this issue seriously and considered it deeply. - We live in tough economic times and many of you don't need the added burden of higher ticket prices at select fixtures. Your despair was warranted and justified. So, please be assured that with immediate effect and until the end of the season, we will have NO category A or B fixtures and tickets for all home fixtures at Loftus Road will be category C. - We appreciate that when you did express yourselves, the protests were done silently and peacefully, through letters and conversations. Point made and point taken! - Let's now get back to what's truly important and dedicate our energies to supporting the team on a matchday. Starting with the visit of Birmingham City to W12 on Tuesday night, let's sing loud and proud and be the formidable 12th man that we all know can make such a difference, especially at Loftus Road. - Once again, thank you for taking the time to read this letter, and thanks for the kind words and support that many of you have given us. - We stand corrected on the ticket price increases. Come on you R's - onwards and upwards.... Yours sincerely, Amit Bhatia QPR Official Site
Here we go again! The owners whoever they are and whatever they made to save the club don't understand anything! Damn!
These prices are almost the same as Arsenal's, except that we have no facitlities, no players and no results to justify these prices. Should the club qualify for Championsleague next season, i'll change my mind. But as yet, we haven't seen a penny of Briatore, Ecclestone, Mittal or anyone's. The club just has a bigger dept that they should pay oneday but as now there's no proof they paid our debt. So the supporters have to pay more and the owners just open the wallet to take this cash.
It's a hammerblow for the fans! Why are we in the premier league? Because the team and the manager worked so hard to get us up. What did the board? They put us in trouble with a scrappy transfer thing, get away with a 875'000 fine and dare to pretend they've done nothing wrong. Then they say it's too expensive to organise a parade. Don't they think that it's too expensive for the fans to come to the match?
Now i'm just thinking of the real QPR, the one when fans paid the wages and the fee for a player themself because the club hadn't got the money to do so. And what did they become as thank you? a 70 % increase of their ST.
I'm really gutted! There's no way we should boo the players. they've nothing to do with that. But damn I hate our owners.

Makes me sad reading all the reports. The club should be pulling in supporters for the tough journey next season ... not getting pissing them off and raping there pockets.
