Should have studied harder!

Basically says that we are looking to recruit from the French top division and that our assistant manager was at the Montpellier vs Monaco game looking at Montpellier's players Giroud and Spahic.

It also says if the transfer of the former seems a little improbable, the latter could conclude quickly. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emir_Spahi%C4%8745 caps for Bosnia and national team skipper, 5 years in Russia of which 4 were in their Premier. Seems Arsenal had their eye on him too. "In August 2010, Spahić personally spoke to Arsène Wenger and agreed a transfer to Arsenal, but Montpellier demanded £25 million which Arsenal could not meet." Twenty-five mill?!!!!!!!

I got the following from a French friend of mine:
I'm asking him about the "filling face" bit.

"filling" is "feeling" or "sense", and "face to the goalkeeper" is "facing the goalkeeper". I get it now.

I got the following from a French friend of mine: Your friend can't be more accurate! It's exactly Giroud! I saw Spahic 4-5 times on TV this season, and he is a terrific center back. Rough, good in the air, strong and good at managing the defensive four. But he takes a lot of yellow (and red) cards. He is sometimes nervous. I heard that Wenger is working on his file, will be hard to lure him to W12... I'm asking him about the "filling face" bit.

Or Dj Campbell? (Repeats older rumours) Blackpool Gazette Sunderland and QPR move for DJ Campbell editorial image DJ Campbell Published on Wednesday 25 May 2011 03:04 Steve Bruce has revealed he knows all about a release clause in DJ Campbell’s Blackpool contract – and the Sunderland boss is set to swoop for the Seasiders frontman. Campbell arrived at Bloomfield Road for a club record £1.25m last summer and scored 13 goals in the top flight. But the striker’s contract is understood to contain a release clause which can be triggered by a £1m offer. Campbell, who spent two successful loan spells at Pool prior to his permanent move from Leicester, has always talked about how he and the Tangerines are a perfect fit, and how he loves the club and its fans. But relegation to the Championship means that, like the rest of the squad, Campbell will have his wages slashed next season. It would be hard for Campbell not to be tempted by more money elsewhere, especially as he turns 30 in November. Campbell has a good relationship with Bruce from their time together at Birmingham five years ago. The Black Cats boss has only one fit forward in record signing Asamoah Gyan, and Bruce said of Campbell: “We are aware of the release clause and there’s no doubt that DJ Campbell has shown this season that he can play in the Premier League.” QPR are also believed to be interested Campbell and look set to also make a move for the 13-goal man. www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/football/blackpool-fc/sunderland_and_qpr_move_for_dj_campbell_1_3411205
