And that rabble of under achievers want our second place spot , what a joke , if they got that i would be physically sick.
Jones blasts Cardiff stars after pre-match booze-up costs them automatic promotion - report
Cardiff boss Dave Jones has read his players the riot act after finding out they had been out drinking less than 48 hours before a crucial defeat that cost them a chance of automatic promotion, according to reports on Wednesday.
The Bluebirds lost 3-0 to Middlesbrough on Monday - a defeat which meant they lost out to Norwich on the second automatic Premier League promotion spot.
But one newspaper claims that far from getting plenty of rest and preparing for the big game, the players had been in Cardiff City centre drinking after a supporters' player of the year night.
It is understood Jones had given them permission to attend the event on the understanding they did not drink and went home immediately afterwards.
Instead it appears many of them flouted the rules and went into town afterwards to continue boozing.
Jones is reported to have read the guilty players the riot act after discovering what they had been up to.
Yesterday he apologised to supporters for the defeat.
"We didn't perform in the first half, the first two goals are schoolboy goals to give away," he said.
"Then we lost our discipline and people were running all over the shop. We just needed to get them in (the dressing room) and settle them down and regroup, but unfortunately we conceded the third.
"I can only apologise to our fans and I am sure the players will reiterate that.
"We just didn't turn up and it's not often I can say that about this group. Whether the nerves or expectation got to them, I don't know. But I think it was just poor defending as a team from front to back."
Cardiff could still seal promotion if they win the play-offs.
