QPR Official Site TRIO FIGHTING TO BE FIT ... Club Captain Fitz Hall, R's number one Paddy Kenny and left back Clint Hill are all fighting to be fit for Saturday's final day showdown against Leeds United at Loftus Road. Hall limped out of last weekend's win at Watford early in the first half, whilst Kenny and Hill were forced to sit out the match altogether owing to shoulder and ankle problems respectively. However, R's gaffer Neil Warnock has revealed the trio are all in contention for a return to the squad on Saturday lunchtime. "They're all knocking on the door," Warnock told www.qpr.co.uk. "Everybody wants to play, but I won't be taking any unnecessary risks. "They'll all have to be 100 per-cent fit if they're going to play against Leeds." www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2352411,00.html

I thought I read that Clint Hill already had his ankle operation. Guess not. (Maybe we're waiting to make sure that we don't need him for the playoffs)

QPR Official Site GAFFER: 'LET'S PARTY!' Posted on: Thu 05 May 2011 Neil Warnock is encouraging the R's faithful to party like never before when Leeds United travel to Loftus Road on Saturday lunchtime. Rangers play host to Simon Grayson's men on the final day of the season - on a day when the Hoops will lift the npower Championship crown. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Warnock said: "I love Loftus Road and I want the fans to enjoy the party on Saturday. "The atmosphere at our ground is unlike anything else. "It's a unique stadium - that's what makes it so special. "I don't think the big boys will relish getting changed in the Loftus Road dressing rooms next season." Warnock has warned his players to expect a tough ride against Leeds, however, and believes Saturday's opponents will be back amongst the big boys in the years to come. "Simon's done a fabulous job up there," he said. "He's a great up-and-coming Manager and they've got a very bright future ahead of them. "I think it'll be a cracking match and I can't wait! "We want to go out with a bang - I don't think we could have picked a better fixture to end the season with! www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2353034,00.html

No Fitz Hall QPR defender ruled out of Leeds clash By Paul Warburton CENTRAL defender Fitz Hall will miss tomorrow's game with Leeds after failing to recover from a hamstring problem. But there is a strong chance Clint Hill (ankle) and keeper Paddy Kenny (shoulder) could be restored to the starting line-up after missing out at Watford last Saturday. Boss Neil Warnock said: "We got good news about Clint’s ankle – and he would play on it if it were broken should we allow him. "But we don’t want to aggravate Fitz’s problems, knowing we might have to take him off after a few minutes if he broke down." www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/london-sport/london-qpr/2011/05/06/qpr-defender-ruled-out-of-leeds-clash-64767-28646463/#ixzz1LZ5Bh9bE

Really didn't do much of a preview compilation this week, as we all focused elsewhere... This is re Derry and Hulse clarkeonenil.co.uk/front-page/leeds-united-connections-with-stephen-clark-queens-park-rangersClarkeonenil Leeds United Connections With Stephen Clark, Queens Park RangersMay 7th, 11 Shaun Derry. The final Connections of the season focuses on a player who has been integral to the success of QPR this year. While Adel Tarabt has gained all the plaudits for his dazzling skills in midfield, he wouldn’t have been allowed the freedom he has to play without the security of Shaun Derry alongside him. The fact that Derry is not still at Elland Road is testimony to some of the pettiness that was abound at Elland Road during the reign of Dennis Wise. Derry joined Leeds in February 2005 from Crystal Palace. Transfer fatigue had set in during the first season back in the Championship, with Kevin Blackwell seeming to be parading a new signing every week. Derry though immediately won over the Leeds support with a winning goal on his home debut against West Ham United. His post-match interview revealed the secret of his success was a pre-match meal of beans on toast in Leeds market. Alongside another current QPR player, Rob Hulse, Derry gave Leeds fans some hope of success after a season of turmoil. The following season saw Leeds make a push for the playoffs, with Derry a key figure in the centre of the park. His hardworking displays further endearing him to supporters, who chanted “Derry’s gonna get you.” However play-off defeat awaited in Cardiff, Derry committing a rash tackle late in the second half which gave Watford the penalty which sealed the game. Come the start of the following season, and Derry was a different player. Gone were his scruffy straggly greying locks, replaced with a short back and sides. Unfortunately like Samson’s strength, Derry’s footballing skills seem to disappear with his hair. Leeds form disintegrated and Blackwell was sacked. New manager Dennis Wise’s strategy was to see Leeds return to their “dirty” roots, and he saw Derry as one of the key components of his team, making him vice-captain. However as his form began to return he suffered hernia and Achilles injuries. During his spell on the side-lines, Leeds beat his former side, Crystal Palace, 2-1 in a crucial clash at Elland Road. However the game was overshadowed by the announcement by Wise after the game that his team had been leaked to the Palace staff by a “mole” in the dressing room and that the person responsible would never play for the club again. Without ever revealing who it was, all the speculation pointed to Derry. Injured for the rest of the season, Derry was unable to prevent Leeds falling into League One. On a long term contract it was expected that Derry would be a vital part of the squad attempting to overturn the 15 point deficit. But Wise never picked him again, seemingly underlining the speculation that he was the mole. Derry returned to Palace in November 2007 before moving on to QPR at the start of this season. Despite the sad end to his spell at Elland Road, Derry has nothing but happy memories of his time at Leeds, calling it one of the highlights of his career. He told the Daily Mail in February: “Pulling on that white shirt and playing at Elland Road is something I can’t put into words. Purely magical.” Stephen Clark. clarkeonenil.co.uk/front-page/leeds-united-connections-with-stephen-clark-queens-park-rangers
